Re: Parking space widths
If you're genuinely interested, it's similar in character to both, but not as good sounding as either. It feels as quick as the e92 and has that same ability to spin up the rears when using the upper rev range that makes M cars fun. The MDM mode on the e92 was better than the M1/2 modes on the M2, ...

Coincidentally I was send this yesterday: https://www.brightwells.com/timed-sale/5605/lot/689569?returnUrl=%2ftimed-sale%2f5605%3fpage%3d5 Brightwells is not the usual sort of place you'd find a 996 Turbo for auction. Might be cheap. Hit £25k, did not meet reserve. If anyone wants to know what the ...

Perfect timing to put your name down for a new EV Macan. Obviously that would be very tempting.

They don't make sense but that is the fun. And if you do it in a Smart that's more of a challenge so the feeling of accomplishment will be greater.

If that isn't a feature, I really hope someone hacks it to make it so.

Just signed up for an autosolo in Abingdon on 8th June if anyone fancies also entering. Will be the first event in 12 months. I may be a bit rusty. https://autotest.sapphire-solutions.co.uk/eventlist.php?sitename=DolphinMC I'm not going to be able to attend so any potential co-drivers for Jon make ...

Re: Parking space widths
Having owned the two cars in question for 5 and 4 years each, I'm inclined to value my opinion over someone who hasn't. (I'm only talking about the respective M3s, I don't care about the lesser models). The e46 is a fantastic car, if mine hadn't been driven into, chances are I'd still have it and l...

The interior looks more Chinese than the exterior to me.
If the central orb had a different image on, it could be quite North Korean.

I just posted two uncontroversial reasons why you’re wrong, and you think I agree? For the avoidance of doubt, you’re completely incorrect

Compared to the new Mini Countryman, which looks like a Ssangyong, I’d say that’s pretty good. They’ve got rid of those appalling Brexit rear lights at least.
ETA: on closer look they are still part of the union flag but being triangular they don’t look so bad. Hmm.

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers
I've forwarded him the suggestions. Also I remember he was quite fond of the V8 diesel in the Q7, but he doesn't want a SUV. It appeared in the Panamera for a very short period. Was it in any other cars? The A8 got a V8 diesel but I’m not sure that it was the last version with electric supercharger...

Re: Parking space widths
Again yet more proof that the E46 was peak 3 series. Dave! having owned both, the E92 M3 was better in every way than the E46 M3 (and I was very fond of both). I don't think the rod bearings in the E92 M3 were better than the E46, objectively. Subjectively the looks of the E92 are so dependent on t...

That turbo is a tip Shed was my first thought but tip is equally valid. Oh, you mean gearbox! Yes, it’s the unloved one. Much like anything Porsche, there are people who get sniffy like never having a Targa but equally people who love them. I’m not going near that 996 at Brightwells but I am intrig...

Volvo S90 if he can cope with a 4-cylinder engine. 730d isn’t too ugly if you go for the pre-facelift version before the gopping grille was added. 6-series Gran Coupe? For mile munching only the Volvo of the above will come with active cruise/lane assist which makes a massive difference to the driver.

You never want to be 'known' on there because there are too many weirdo stalkers. Bit like Twitter I guess

Quite how the mods there interpreted your posts in the way they did is beyond me. You did have plenty of actual fascists to argue with which I’m sure will not have been doing your mental health any good so perhaps it’s a blessing.

Re: Test drive report
It was a 2006 997.1 Carrera S in silver with about 52k miles which sold on Collecting Cars for £23,500. Having done a bit of googling and looking at adverts there seems to be a very wide price range between an early 997.1 and late 997.2; I’m sure that is partly down to bore scoring being perceived a...
