Re: Your fleet running reports

Hurrah for USB battery jump starters. Decided to put the Fabia back on the trickle charger ahead of autosoloing recommencing in a couple of weeks. Battery appeared dead so trickle charger not happy. Charged up the USB jump starter, attached it to the car, jump started immediately. Ran for a couple o...

Re: The House Projects Thread

So now we have a large patio, what recommendations for the lazy way to clean a large patio? Brushing it and then an occasional jet wash is the default answer but - with paths and other areas about 10m long, with fence one side, house the other, that's a lot of brushing, to sweep loose stuff al...

Re: Anyone big in Crypto?

I've thought about it, but it just seems too volatile to be a sensible investment. If you're not worried about losing your stake then why not? But it is essentially a complete gamble. I bought some ethereum just for fun ages ago and didn't check for a long time so I'm happy to see that's gone up, b...

Re: How to fix a pressure washer?

That is annoying. I’ve been using ours non stop all weekend doing the driveway to get rid of all the residual sand and crap after we had some builders do our patio.

Not just a kink in the hose? Mine sometimes clicks on for a second or two when the water is off, but not continuously.

Have been enjoying Upload. About halfway through series 1.
You made me think Season 2 was already out with that! But not yet. Really enjoyed Upload.

Re: The House Projects Thread

Had the patio and path round the side/front of the house done after 14 years of being here. Loads of quotes all over the place. Eventually went with someone with good local recommendations who also gave an open breakdown on the quote of costs for materials and labour. They were also at the cheaper e...

You just reminded me my Dad had a Morris army truck in the garage for many years (and if even came out of the garage sometimes)

About the only memory I do have was when he test drove a Rover v8 (the Z-Cars type thing, with a spare wheel on the boot lid).

We did 100 mph for the first time in my life - it was amazing.
Similar memory here of an Uncle with a Datsun 260Z. That was 100 for the first time for me.

The ones I remember from when I was young: Mini (EJB64E), that he dropped on his hand one time and still has the scar Triumph Toledo (MYV478L), and doing handbrake turns in it round Rushmoor Arena (so it's amusing going there for targa rallying now) Morris Marina (SDP750S, 1.3 on the logbook but was...

Excellent, good to hear. Turns out the charger is not the same as mini USB as it first appeared. Have asked the parents to dig around for it but only a few quid for one if they can't find it. I have a new one here if you need it, I sold the devices on last lockdown as the kids had moved on to Switc...

Nintendo DS Lite

Are they any good? My parents bought one years ago (probably when they came out in 2006) and just gave it to me (well, my son, but I'll look after it for him). It's in good nick, so a nice piece of modern retro. They only have one Sudoku game for it and a cooking/recipe app, so I've just picked up N...
