Re: Primary school shenanigans

I went to catholic schools for my whole education because my mum was catholic. Can't say I ever noticed any indoctrination. There were certain days that they would have compulsory masses but if you weren't into it you could just sit at the back and be ignored. RE was compulsory through standard grad...

She was married to Tom Cruise and the rumour was that he didn’t want her working. Some Scientology shite.

Re: The Movie Thread

I was kind of curious about JL's and your opinion about his Batman movies considering your rarely stated opinions about superhero stuff. The Dark Knight is in my top 5 all time favourite films but I think The Prestige is probably my favourite film. I'm definitely going to rewatch all of his films to...

Re: The Movie Thread

My love for the Interstellar soundtrack is three fold. Because 1) They threw away all the ideas he'd ever had before and started completely clean sheet. Even the main instrument is new to Zimmer (church organ). 2) Nolan didn't tell Zimmer what the film was about when he asked him to write the music...

Speaking of Phillip Pullman, has anyone read La belle Sauvage? I was a big fan of His Dark Materials but haven't got round to this yet.

Lost in space Lasted 6 mins, the altimeter showing meters but the computer saying feet for the ameritards... The ship sinks falls through the ice it landed on and they have to rush because all the water is going to freeze as it hits -60c at night, that’s some temperature cycle the planet goes throu...

Re: Forum Roll Call BUT pictures rather than words

It is an XFR, but unfortunately needs to go soon to make way for a 7 seater... At least the Red Landy still keeps a V8 in the fleet (4.0 with a 4 barrell Weber). https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4442/36321477076_90627e6f80_b.jpg If I'm being honest, the white one looks like this at the moment - https...

Re: The Movie Thread

The Death of Stalin: Loved it, would watch again. Indeed, have watched again. It's the blackest possible comedy with an excellent cast and a wonderful script. What's not to like? Just for JL, I give it 11 Kalashnikov-waving Marshal Zhukovs out of 10. Yeah it was great, although I'm biased as my fan...

Aye, Interstellar and Dunkirk are the only Nolan movie I've only watched once. Might have a wee Nolan Season, it's been a while since I watched The Prestige as well.

I'd had a few beers when I watched it and you're not the first to say I might have missed something. I might give it another go at some point.

Re: The Movie Thread

Current there, Zed. I quite liked it. Good book too. It was on Netflix and I remembered people saying good things about it. I normally like a wall street movie but this one got my socialist hackles up . Focusing on one set of greedy bankers as some sort of heroes over another set of greedy ban...

Beautiful photos. Why's there, what appears to be, a deflating paddling pool just before the apex?
It's a barrier at the first part of the chicane. It's on quite a steep hill.

Re: Guitars 'n' shit

Not very good at guitar as I’m a fat handed twat and I’ve broken a few fingers so I have trouble holding chords. Used to play bass in a couple of bands though. Between my missus and I we have a Telecaster, an Epiphone Strat, a Fender Strat bass and a Gibson Thunderbird. I can’t remember the last tim...

I was supposed to be going through to Edinburgh to work on a car today but I got shitfaced at a party last night and I’m so hungover I can barely stand.

Spending the day moping about on the couch it is.
