Re: Why are road trips so alluring?

We were somewhat constrained by the nipper in that we couldn't do any stint of more than 2 or 3 hours without a break as it's not good for small children to be in a car seat for that long. But we settled into a rhythm with it. Leave after breakfast - Drive for 3 hours. Stop for lunch for a few hours...

Re: Why are road trips so alluring?

I drove 2500 miles through France and Northern Italy over 3 week with a 9 month old in the back in a Vauxhall Zafira.

one of the best holidays ever - I can't explain it either

Korean, subtitles. Simple love story. But not.

Some beautifully awkward scenes, dripping in warmth and stifled emotion.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. 8.5 12-year gaps out of 10 for me.
I saw a trailer for that and it looked good - will check it out

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers

A big Citroen is always my first thought when someone wants a mile muncher..

But I can see his point  I drove a Passat Estate in black for a year and that was a Hearse

A large Volvo would therefore be my second choice in terms of comfort - S80 maybe or even an S90 if his budget stretches ??

I was on a teams call a while back and one of the participants went "Sorry, my hoover's texting me - the dining room door's closed and it can't get to the kitchen".

Re: Cholestorol and heart disease.

I've just submitted another round of BP numbers as part of my ongoing treatment. While not the perfect (High reading 128/89, Low 120/80, average 124/83), I'm not going to change dosage of Ramapril for now and just keep loosing weight, cutting way back on the beers and the processes meat (I do love a...

Re: Decent Recent TV

Just binged The Last of Us Really enjoyed it. I never played the game or watched the likes of The Walking Dead so I had no baggage while watching it. The performances were great, particularly Bella Ramsey and as mentioned, the episode with Bill and Frank was excellent Looking forward to the second s...

Re: Cholestorol and heart disease.

Mine was about 7.5 but with statins - and to be fair, a lot of diet changes, it’s down to 3.3 with both readings well in the good range.

I’m also on Ramapril for Blood Pressure (which is also working - 115 to 120 over 82 to 84 which isn’t the worst for a 50 year old who needs to lose a stone or two.

Re: Hive mind: opinion on this polo

My sister had a 1.2 for a good while - bought it with 40k km’s and it never put a foot wrong.

Mum now has one - again, bought with about 40k km’s and it’s going well so far.

Non technical feedback but they do seem a decent car. Mini Dinny will be getting one for his first.

A Life in 10 Pictures Brilliant series looking at the life of a famous person through 10 pictures, introduced by the people who took the pic, those in it or connected to it. It’s a really good way to frame a talk about the person. First one was Carrie Fischer, the second, Bruce Lee. Next week is Ro...
