Re: Meet up
A really good turnout by the 928 owners club, I've never seen so many 928s in one place. And a smattering of 924/944/968. I quite fancy a 944 or 968. First time I sat in a 944 , really nice and comfy, the driving position is pretty much spot on. Lovely. Think you're forgetting that you've sat in a ...

Re: NC500 - becoming too busy?
Bugger. Im planning a trip for next year, key advice is to go outside school holidays then? Yep, definitely. Even then hotels and B&Bs can be short on rooms out of holiday season, so book early. The NC500 is really good, but for pure driving roads, there are better, less known parts of Scotland...

Re: NC500 - becoming too busy?
Well it's been a couple of years, but it didn't really get any worse in the coupe of times I've been up. Yes there's traffic, but there's also so much good stuff when you're on a proper trip. Last time I remember chasing YK for ages on some real high speed stuff with no other cars for a good 20mins...

One of the hire cars I ended up with a few years ago in NZ was a Rav-4. I found it better in every way over a Qashqai, particularly the build quality. Dunno if they'll be in range of your budget though.

The French do love a bit of tail-gating.

Re: EU elections
Major signed us up to Maastricht without a referendum Was that without a parliamentary referendum? I don't think there's actually been a decent PM since I was born (1980) some have seemed okay to begin with, but they inevitably end up being shit. Wonder what it's like to have a decent Prime Ministe...

Raab also left Linklaters shortly after qualifying. There may have been a reason for that. Probably more for the Theresa thread than this one, but I was aware of this fact. How that can turn that into "Mr Raab is seen as a skilled debater who honed his skills as an adversarial lawyer with blue...

968 has oiled filled engine mounts. Certain liquids are good at providing hydraulic dampening, who'd have thought it?

That is absolutely fucking mental!

Re: New 1-series
It does raise the question why anyone is even talking about it on here at all given it has no appeal at all from any aspect any more! Just buy a Golf FFS. Because the old 1-Series was a decent package and not too bad looking in the end. The new one is not only styled badly, but FWD too, so worthy o...

Re: New 1-series
It is a shame that it's no longer rwd, but I fully understand their reasonings behind the change. They've probably lost more sales through poor packaging and 'bmws are shit when it rains ' compared to their main rivals than they have gained from enthusiasts specifically after a rwd small car. I'd h...

Re: H.C.O.C (Henry Catchpole on Carfection)
Love the Speedster and the video, needed to be longer. My perfect 911. Seems like most enthusiasts were scoffing and turning their nose up at the Speedster, when Porsche first announced it. If it's as close as the current gen 911 gets to being a road biased GT3 (a la 911R) then it's the most desira...
