Re: Your fleet running reports

It will probably be a mechanical seal, we have them on all our water pumps, oil pumps etc and they work great. Dave is (of course) correct. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.audiworld.com-vbulletin/1754x1648/front_axle_reservoir_e8feee0fe54ad516eecb620eb6a83c82835b4861_a9aa4706438feb190597bc24e49abf...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Is the coolant under any sort of maintenance schedule or is it a ‘sealed for life’ system where by life they make it hard for anyone but a main dealer to change and the real life cycle is more like 6 years? There is a resevoir with drain plug in each motor to deal with seepage. Just found this stat...

I can't answer with any authority, but I'd guess fundamentally no different. Although I suspect they would be subject to higher temperatures? No idea about pressures.

Re: Dangerous beers...

I like some of the strong(er) Belgian beers like Duvel and La Chouffe, but I don't enjoy drinking many of them. Lagers slip down easier for me (current draught favourites Estrella & Birra Minabrea). I tend not to enjoy crafty / microbrewery type concoctions. Generally too strongly flavoured for ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

integrale_evo Yeah, I've been looking into it in a little more detail, and I'm still scratching the surface as opposed to diving deep, but I understand that in order to maximise (particularly continuous) performance manufacturers are deploying motor cooling circuits that go around the stator (sound...

Re: And then there was none..

Colleague/mate hired a T350 for his 25th. It was very good value, but the mandatory insurance excess of £3.5k (circa 20yrs ago) proved a great deterrent to push it too hard.

Re: And then there was none..

It gets better if you read the small print. One off charge of £3k plus VAT. Also the nicer cars have a little pesky asterisk: "* 1.25 miles charged per mile, minimum 50 miles per day. ** 1.5 miles charged per mile, minimum 50 miles per day. *** 2 miles charged per mile, minimum 50 miles per da...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Took mrs mik’s E-Tron for a “larger car task” at the weekend. 25 miles from home on an A-Road the car suddenly sang out some loud warning chimes whilst flashing up “Electrical System Fault – Safely stop vehicle!” followed immediately by a 4WD system fault message, and then a warning related to the d...

We discussed this topic in relation to Lance Armstrong. Compete using as many performance enhancing drugs as you are happy to take.

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers

I had a passenger ride in a 3.0TD one of these with a taxi company last year and it was such a great place to be. Wonderful ride, really smooth gearbox and the dash at night was lovely. I don’t know when they were made till though. There is a burgundy one with cream leather I see regularly and it’s...

Question for Nurburgring experts

https://jacos-paddock.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/NurburgringGP.png When they run races using the full track - combining the new Nurburgring GP circuit & old Nordschleife - why do they bypass the Mercedes Arena and take the short cut between points 1 and 5 above? Combined circuit is obviousl...

Nice review Mik. What made you decide to pick this one out of the other brands out of interest? https://www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/house-garden/vacuum-cleaners/best-robot-vacuum-cleaners-b2349451.html We'd kinda narrowed it down to the Roomba J7+ or this one. The former seems to have str...
