Re: The Weather Thread.

Bit scary round these parts yesterday ! Rain, hail and now blue sky and sunshine today. This was yesterday, thankfully all got out ok. (Presume you can see the article through all the shite on the site?) https://www.buxtonadvertiser.co.uk/news/weather/shocking-images-show-near-death-experience-as-lo...

Re: Lego

My little boy has got into Lego now - it's quite fun to sit down together and guide him through the instructions. We just completed the moving Hedwig one: https://i.ibb.co/Yh7kDvV/B34-BB0-E1-2263-4893-8-E96-216949-AAC2-A6.jpg Which I thought was pretty good going - seeing as he's 4! It is amazing t...

Re: Lego

I haven't sold anything really, not for several years, but I see a lot on Facebook market place. Asking prices all over the place, certainly for retired sets. Loose stuff seems to go for £8/£10/kg! Quite a few chancers on Amazon too, even with kits still listed on Lego.com. I've gone through ebay f...

Alas all the boxes went in the bin years ago. It's all now in huge Ikea holders, with the instructions in a big pile.

Re: Coronavirus

Cheers for the replies folks, I'm glad to be over it. Hopefully the heart issue is nothing serious as I'm now stranded in front of the TV with plantar fasciitis ( basically foots buggered after 25 k steps a day for 16 years !)

Ah well, never rains .............

Re: The state of customer sales in the UK

Hate to admit it (being a postie) but Amazon are pretty good at what they do. I've been a Prime member ( stop it at the back!) for years and although we don't order that much from them, when we do it has always turned up on as ordered. Any returns we've had we just notify them via the app and then s...

Re: Lego

Anybody ever sold their Lego collection? We're pricing up the stuff we have and ebay seems very hit and miss for price estimates. I think Music Magpie buy Lego by the Kg but I know we have a lot more in value than what they would pay. As we've a fair bit we haven't the time to build it all up. I had...

Re: Coronavirus

Many thanks for all the well wishes folks! Near enough 5 months in and my progress seems to have plateaued. Struggled with my breath yesterday after mowing the lawn and then putting the bin out. Not good. The GP has basically left me in the hands of the Chesterfield based Long Covid clinic. GP is u...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

Luckily we didn't get a pic ( mainly as I was vomiting at the sight 😉)
But a pearlescent candy floss pink Evoque on the A34 near Handforth, complete with dodgy spaced number plate. Looked horrific but I thought at least it's not the convertible.

Re: The House Projects Thread

If you can pay someone else £1000 to avoid cancer yourself then that's a bloody good deal. This! I'd have no problem doing it myself if it was normal construction but wouldn't risk DIY on asbestos. I know the process seems straight forward to remove but I just wouldn't risk the 'ticking health time...

Yep, concrete walls but asbestos roof. Owner has said they'll sort asbestos in the porch prior to sale so thought they'd be as well doing the garage at the same time.

Re: The House Projects Thread

Thought this would be as good as place as any to ask... Our house is on the market and the plan is to downsize and be relatively mortgage free. So we've put off viewing any actual houses for fear pf getting our hopes up and missing out. Today we decided we may as well look at a couple of houses that...

Re: Places to visit in Scotland

I know it's obvious but Scotland is a big place and getting to various parts takes ages. Having said that start at Edinburgh and visit the Kelpies and then the castle ( maybe a trip to Mary Kings close (?) which is nearby) After that I'd head over to the west coast maybe stopping at Stirling and its...

Re: Thieving Scum pt453

Our area has has a huge increase in car theft and break ins over the last few months. As we are in the middle of Sheffield, Glossop, Stockport and Manchester here in the High Peak I think it's easy pickings for them. The local police have a huge area to cover and with less actual Cops to do it. Last...

For some reason the Sweet Beaver seems the most appealing :)

As 50% of our household are them veggie types we rarely get to buy decent meat. This surely means I can go the whole hog and buy some fancy stuff ?? :)
The Cheshire smokehouse is pretty local so I dare say they'll be getting an order.
