The Paperboy

We don't get papers delivered but some of our neighbours do, I happened to be looking out of the window just now and noticed that the paper boy gets driven around by his mum in a nearly-new BMW.

That seems to be missing the point on several levels.

I didn't, no. I ended up buying some Vans as a compromise, they're *just* about OK to drive in but not ideal.

...I guess it was pretty standard for him picking up a 2001 Maserati for it not to be working as intended! I was just about to say my Dad bought a Quattroporte last year and it's been fine, but then checked and his is a M139, while the 2001 Quattroporte Evoluzione in your story was presumably from ...

Nice palmares.

But I had to google this one and I wish I hadn't.
Ferrari Rainbow
Maybe it made sense at the time ? Using one of those as a donor to make a Fiero replica would be a good upgrade.

Re: Confessions of a younger driver.....

First proper job after Uni, small company, the owner was using every possible tax loophole, one of which was that the pool cars (3 off) were knackered old sheds owned by his wife and leased to the company as if they were nice new cars  One was a Volvo 340 with a dodgy clutch. I wondered if you ...

Re: Today’s want

What you need is a small industrial unit which is below the business rates threshold. Commercial premises tend not to be quite as pricey as residential land unless they have potential for conversion I would imagine that unit is into business rates being payable territory. Add on the expense of busi...

There should be plenty of space for a ramp ?

Mo' storage means mo' money unfortunately, and land anywhere around here is fairly expensive compared to the provinces. And wifey doesn't want to move. Already had that conversation.

If they'd fitted the engine from that A8 to the 957 Cayenne, I think I'd be perfectly happy with one of those.

And I'm not planning on doing the conversion myself

Re: The ebay thread

A8 is almost the same as the Bentley though (underpinnings are literally the same), just a different engine, allthough tbf I’ve not had a V8 diesel yet so it’s not a hard no.

But regardless, nothing’s happening until (lack of) sobriety intersects with eBay opportunity in the right (wrong) way.

The smarts (well 453 at least) also seem to have these horrible wiry carpets that trap absolutely everything and if you try and agitate it with a hoover then go all fuzzy and even worse  Both mine & Gavster's are 450s but pre & post facelift, and the carpet in the facelift car is noti...

It's not just cars, and it's not just stuff from the UK, the same pattern has been pointed out across all kinds of manufacturing, all over Europe & RoW. Sanctions are nigh impossible to enforce 100% - once a (in this case) car has been delivered to a customer they're free to do whatever they lik...
