Re: Your fleet running reports

Cayenne: two steps forward, one step back. I fitted a new (that had nonetheless been sat in my garage for two years) propshaft to get through the MOT and now there's a noise / vibration from ~40mph upwards that feels very much like bad propshaft  I've been under and checked everything is strai...

Re: What Car.

Didn't you get the X5 to tow the race car? Is there another plan for achieving that? Buy a Bentley, then immediately sell it again. Have you sold that already? Heh, nope, it was the reason for the previous owner selling it ! He bought it here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325547320349 Then sold it to...

Re: What Car.

In that case I'd be angling for a full refund on the X5, buy something cheaper and put the spare cash towards the racing.

Re: Ukraine

I don't suppose anyone is surprised. They won't be on the front line alongside Ukrainian troops, but they'll be very involved in planning & training.

Also - there's a neat competition to land a drone in Red Square on 9th May:

Which also reminds me how important it is to look after the environment. The large boot makes it an ideal car for dropping off some bottles at the bottle bank. I’m doing my bit. Are you ?

Re: Just eats/Uber eats/deliveroo

I always assumed JustEat was simply an interface to the restaurant and it was the restaurant's own delivery drivers ? Used them loads of times. That's exactly what it is isn't it? Our stuff always seems to be brought by the restaurant's own drivers. That's what I thought. So I can't judge them in t...

Re: Your fleet running reports

It's 90 litres. Fairly big, but doesn't give much range with a big thirsty engine up front :) Which reminds me to do a fuel update - three trips to visit family over Easter meant it's had a decent run and I did the first brim-to-brim calc yesterday. Shortly after the low fuel warning came on it took...

My wife has used Uber / Deliveroo several times to get McDonalds delivered  It always arrives luke-warm.

JIC. Sold for £200.

After the £80 I paid for retention & ebay's cut it's probably nearly £100 in my pocket. Almost three quarters of a tank of petrol ! Cool.

Re: Your fleet running reports

One question - aren't Bentleys fiendish for servicing? Are you planning on doing this yourself, but don't engines* have to come out and suchlike? First thing is just to state the obvious: it's big. So a service needs 12 litres of oil & 19 litres of coolant. There's 12 spark plugs, two air filte...

Re: Your fleet running reports

We had a nice cruise down to the coast yesterday to see my parents. Driving very very conservatively (60-65mph & almost entirely motorway) I just about eked out 22mpg. The weather was lovely and the sun brings out a nice purple tinge to the paint. I’m also finally ready to reveal the outcome of ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

A lot of aftermarket manufacturers will sell custom fit speakers to fit specific makes / models, or sell adapters to fit generic size ones. And if you have a parts bin car (e.g. Porsche, Bentley, Ferrari) even if there's not an adapter listed it's quite possible that one for a VW or Fiat will fit. ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Following on from the video I just recommended; the chap replaced the two central speakers and this is something I want to do. He uses Polk 5.25” 600W speakers and had to drill new holes to mount it. I’m thinking that means a metric speaker would fit better and wondered if anyone had any recommenda...
