Re: Coaster/YK
A year has passed since YK left us. Just thought it worth a note here. 100% - thanks Barry. I've been quite surprised how many times that YK has popped into my thoughts over the last year when I've been out driving. Somehow this google search has been cached in my browser, and occasionally when I a...

Re: Your fleet running reports
My dad's has just come back from the dealer with a bill for £12,520.43 for a replacement front gearbox/PTU for the 4WD system - thankfully covered under warranty. They apparently are a "when" not "if" replacement, which is annoying as I was planning to buy or inherit it from him...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Interesting. You think a 355/360 would be a better option than your 996 C4S? (Not trying to be a smartarse - I recall that you liked that car but the timing was wrong for your needs?)

Re: New new new new Top Gear
I know TG is now dead, but I was listening to the latest Sniff & Smith podcast the other night (which I don't often get a chance to do) Episode 208 "Talking Cars With Pet Shop Boys". Richard/SniffP/Aquadrome noted towards the end that in his head he'd created The Stig as "Kimi Rai...

Re: Randomness
Apparently it's actually quite well implemented, reported by people who have driven them. not for me sir. Now if they could add a pretend clutch and a pretend gear lever that would pretend to baulk if I pretended to rush it too quickly, or could pretend to stall if I didn't pretend to give i...

Re: Randomness
Jeezus, that is exactly what they have done. And worse.
Now I need to buy a new Tragicometer, with a higher rating.

Re: Randomness
I hate that crap, but based on that vid and the way the camera moves as it pretend-shifts from pretend-first into pretend-second, it looks like Hoonday have gone one step further and added a pause in the power delivery???? In which case, my Tragicometer may well explode.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Took mrs mik’s E-Tron for a “larger car task” at the weekend. 25 miles from home on an A-Road the car suddenly sang out some loud warning chimes whilst flashing up “Electrical System Fault – Safely stop vehicle!” followed immediately by a 4WD system fault message, and then a warning related to the ...

Re: Car Hire Lottery
Merc EQA supplied by Audi to cover us until they have fixed Mrs mik’s etron. That’ll do nicely. Have only taken it up the road and back, but initial thoughts (which will make me look like an ungrateful moany git) : whilst the interior is far from unpleasant, the big vents in the centre are a bit ch...

Re: Harry’s Garage
I just rewatched a segment and heard Harry’s comment about Comdort vs Sport setting on the brake pedal. Why indeed? :? Obviously it’s going to be a lot quicker than a std car at higher speeds, but I wonder if it is actually significantly faster at legal velocities - with the torque limiting in 1st &...
