Re: Which Boxster to get?
Found a nice example with low miles in good nick with a warrantee from a dealer. https://www.maundrells.co.uk/porsche-boxster-24v-in-oxfordshire-for-sale-6395016 Test drove it yesterday (great top down weather) vs a 986S and very much enjoyed it. Going to think over things this weekend and make a de...

Similar kinds of pricing at the older end (2006 ish) - one or two private sales or Knockers and Snatch esque dealers selling for sub £10k.

Re: Which Boxster to get?
I've owned a 986 2.7, a 986 3.2 S and a 987 3.4 S in the past. The first developed an oil leak, the second lunched the engine at 11,000 miles and the 987 S was faultless. (All in new car warranty - I was told that the replacement short engine would have been about 12,500 + VAT + fitting otherwise :...

There is a careful equation between potential driving fun and rage from my tiny yet incredibly angry significant other. You guys cannot know how furious I will be if I blow money that could go towards a deposit on a house... I would suggest what car you get next might not be your biggest issue to r...

Re: Which Boxster to get?
987 3.2 is the correct choice. The 2.7s actually sound better (particularly the whine on the overrun) but are simply too slow. The 987 2.7 my father had was always slightly frustrating when you had to navigate around other traffic (i.e. overtake) whereas the 3.2 I owned was significantly torquier a...

OV9. The thrill of making responsible life decisions. Sadly, he’s not wrong though. Bad time to be buying a convertible dude, but test drive what’s in your price range and buy the one you enjoy the most. Otherwise, you’ll end up regretting not buying what you wanted. The internet will stop you buyi...

I think that was tongue-in-cheek because that was the most expensive of the options you offered ;) There is a careful equation between potential driving fun and rage from my tiny yet incredibly angry significant other. Re: Which Boxster to get?
987 S then State clearly how it is worth £5000 over the base 986. Obv it handles more tidily but is it a whole heap more rewarding to drive? Is the 987 really that much nicer inside? I should add that while I want something fun I also want something that will eat up the motorway miles Oxford to Cam...

Which Boxster to get?
That Porsche track day gave me the bug and I am actively looking at second hand Boxsters. I was hoping someone who has owned one before / been through a similar process / just happened to be on the internet and thought highly of their own opinion could give me some pointers. I’ve read all the buying...

Great write up! Sounds like a well worthwhile day. With this in mind, any alterations due? Different tyres perhaps?

Re: Ferrari Options?
What would you rather have a Ferrari 458 Italia and a 308 GTB or a mint 430 Scuderia? Prices on the two options are about the same right now in the US. The Scud for me too. It would be fun to have a 308 GTB kicking around for a vintage twist but tbh I hate the 70s styling and there the appeal ends....

Bit late to the party but we had a short break in Rye last year and can thoroughly recommend. Beautiful scenery and great foodie places there. Plus pop over to Winchelsea and you can see where Spike Milligan is buried. Another vote for Scotland too. We were up in Perth last summer for a wedding and ...
