What’s the deal with the plate?
The owner before me was called Matty and left it on.

I know it’s a stretch…
I'm also frequently called Mixty, so I get why. But only at weekends.

Re: Lexus image in the UK

I’m sure you read the thread on PH by someone who bought one. It was going to be a keeper forever; but he sold it within a year. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1972677&i=40 Yeah saw that one, but only due to potential redundancy which did in the end happen (app...

Re: Lexus image in the UK

If you can afford £12k over 2 years why put a max figure on it. Admittedly I'm 47 now and it's probably only the last 5 years I've not dwelled on the cost of things rather than live on the basis of can I afford to indulge in something I want regardless of cost and perceived value. Your only getting...

Re: EOTR MX-5 100th Anniversary Super 220

Someone who lives in my road has one if these in this exact colour, I can see it now from my office window. There are a lot of positives, both head (bullet proof with a long warranty) and heart (sound), the only real kicker for me is the “lack” of power compared to the 550. If it's a Sport+ (wheels...

Re: Lexus image in the UK

So I've been shopping for an LC500 for a while now. Pretty much given up, limited budget, rare car and me wanting a specific spec... I assumed these were now reaching “feasible” for you? :( What are your spec-ific must-haves? I'm after a Sport+ (RWS, LSD, Carbon roof, and more) Financially yes - I ...

Re: EOTR MX-5 100th Anniversary Super 220

I really enjoyed sim racing, the setting up process (with VR - essential!) and a decent wheel was always too much of a pain and I don't have the room to keep it permanently in place. My shortlist includes an AMG GT, Panamera, Mulsanne or F-Type I've got another suggestion for this list, but I can't ...

Re: Test drive report

Another ECPOTY, and it's only turned Feb.

I can see the engine appeal, and the waftyness, but I'm do like the Macan. When you move into that price bracket though, there are some big players...was there nothing else a consideration or are you now both beholden to the brand ;)

Re: Car insurance

Over £1000 for insurance still sounds mad to me. That was my mental limit back in my 20s when I wanted something fast; I think I paid about £900 per year for my Corrado VR6 insurance aged 25 with a London address. It's never been as much since. Not looking forward to the renewals this year if premi...

Re: Car insurance

Yeah, they are getting crashed and nicked a lot.... Admiral Direct are saying £1388 (aka £125/month) for basically everything (euro, hire car, personal masseuse) which given the car and the way insurance has gone this year, seems more reasonable. How much!? Is that reasonable? I'd have said £600 wa...

Re: Lexus image in the UK

Rich B that's the most unflattering picture of those I've seen  they do look great in red/grey. It's clearly more about confort than outright performance with them also being heated and cooled. The car itself is more around distance as a "Sporty GT" rather than a direct performance c...

Lexus image in the UK

So I've been shopping for an LC500 for a while now. Pretty much given up, limited budget, rare car and me wanting a specific spec...but also because I refuse to pay 10% more to buy from a dealer on a warrantied car. Thing is, typical Lexus owners don't sell privately, nor do they hang around on foru...

Can't comment on the wiring. But a few things about my Nest 1. No click. But does glow. You wouldn't want it in the bedroom unless you also want a night light 2. Bedroom not the best place for a thermostat? Usually one of the warmest rooms 3. Needs to be within reasonable range of the boiler for the...

Yeah, I had the same pain....despite numerous calls I still ended up paying 80% more than last year (although it had been remapped since, but even without estimates were showing a 60% increase). The "options" have always been that that AFAIK. I only ever pick legal. Try Admiral, they were ...
