Re: New Z4
I quite like the front end and bonnet, but it just looks exactly like what I'd expect a new Z4 to look like. And that's kind of been the case the last few generations. Do they sell many these days?

Re: James Bond Films - Ranked
I'm also Roger Moore generation so Live and Let Die is my favourite by some stretch although I do like what they've done with Daniel Craig's ones. I know Bourne upped the bar, but I think Mission Impossible Fallout has just upped it even further, so with that and also the world we live in, its going...

Re: New 2018 BMW M5 Competition review - better than an E63 S?
The way BMW do these updates to the M3 and M5 just reminds me of Spinal Tap when Marty DiBergi is trying to explain to Nigel that if they made 10 louder, there's no need for an 11.
But its one louder.

I've just installed Steam on a new laptop, so what's good?
I've never played a Civilisation game, so Civ V has been bought already.

Re: Lego
That's a real disappointment. So much of the overall package is spot on, but what's with the lack of smooth curves? Its as if the last 20 years of curved lego never happened. Fair enough, use more traditional blocks underneath, but that outer shell surely has to be like the real thing?
Re: RFPs
Hahahahahahahahahaha I laugh in the face of your puny shenanigans. Work permits on an oil rig, it took me an hour to get a hot work permit, extinguisher, fire watchman, all to drill about 10 aluminium rivets out. Next job I used a chisel. Lifting plans, all very pretty and then get thrown aside as ...
Re: RFPs
Who do you work for? :D We've just issued an RFI to six vendors off the back of a failed RFP with one vendor who just didn't listen to anything the client wanted and did their own thing. We'll make recommendations after the RFI, the favourite option of which is... to move to RFP. Its all billable I ...

Re: A Dutch first: Ingenious BMW theft attempt
"Ramblings" is the right word for that blog. tldr - Their grand scheme was to make it look like a simple break-in without theft, while cleverly disabling the internal alarm systems, and covering their tracks as best as possible. Most likely, if I parked the car in front of our house the ne...

Yeah, this recent weather has been tough for big hairy pooches!
We've been trying to get them to the beach as much as possible as they all like swimming and the rescue one is obsessed by it

Re: Forza Horizon 4
And yesterday does look superb although I wonder how popular it will be outside of the uk, I doubt dull dreary uk has quite the same global appeal as somewhere nice and hot and sunny... Some of the footage I've seen looks absolutely stunning - I seem to remember there's stuff modelled on the Scotti...

Longer update, but what the hell, everyone loves dog pictures right? First guide dog puppy Ben is now fully qualified and is looking after a man in Belfast. We got sent this "graduation" picture of him. http://www.runyabam.com/downloads/clemfandango/dugs/bengrad.jpg Second dog Jet is going...

Someone's just put up a 15 minute gameplay vid on Youtube (insanely irritating commentary) and the Edinburgh stuff looks insanely good. Although I still wish they'd remake Project Gotham.

Re: The Movie Thread
Empire have just done one (now two) spoiler special podcasts with Christopher McQuarrie about MI:Fallout which make for fascinating listening about the process, things they cut and everything else about the movie basically. The first one clocks in at just under 3 hours long and its great to hear an ...

Re: Cyclists - turbo trainer advice
They've just added the Innsbruck courses in to Zwift - as someone who isn't a cyclist, I made the mistake of picking one of those course to do on a rest day yesterday - by the time I finished I'd have been more dry if I'd sat in a bath for an hour.

Re: Networking your home
We put cat6 in a couple of years back and its well worth doing imho. I was put off home plugs by some of the reviews and wifi is never as reliable as it should be in terms of coverage, although some of the new mesh setups look really good.

The iPhone X is my favourite iPhone they've done, by some distance. TouchID seems positively primitive when you go back to it.
