Re: I used to be with "it"

Yes, you're old - deal with it, it's always been this way.

Re: The Movie Thread

Another example of why IT nerds think leather trenchcoats look cool (failing to notice that it's the ripped actor wearing it that actually looks cool).

Re: Euromillions immediate purchase

I think you have to be the sort of person who actually wants to use a sex pond every day. I know a few people who do literally use their hot tub every single day, regardless of weather. But if you're just sticking it on the patio in the hope you'll use it each weeekend, chances are it'll end up moul...

Re: Euromillions immediate purchase

I wouldn't bother with an outdoor swimming pool here, let alone Ireland! I don't much like an indoor pool - the atmosphere gets rather humid and there's a lot of pleasure to be had from being in an outdoor pool on a sunny day. You're definitely not going to use it all year round, but I think I'd qu...

Re: The (mainly city-focussed) anti-car movement

I'd agree if these pictures were on a poster for an initiative to encourage people to ride to work, but that's not what this is.

Re: Randomness

Or she could put her trolley away. C'mon Rich - they pay people to do that. how fucking irritating is it when you see an empty parking spot, go to pull in and find there's a trolley in it. Or worse, come back to your car to see a trolley someone has left stray has rolled into your door. kart...

Re: Test drive report

What is the point that's trying to be made here? Parts sharing isn't anything new and doesn't seem to affect people when deciding which car to buy otherwise you wouldn't have Lamborghini or Bentley or Rolls Royce around - and that's the high end stuff. as I said, the point is that it's an interesti...

Re: Test drive report

Though, there's an awful lot of boxster/Cayman that IS a 911 these days. Interesting (if very nerdy) watch! <link> Didn't watch the vid, and I don't dispute the assertion, but I do wonder how much that matters to the majority of buyers? Those who want brand/status will still see the 911 as a higher...

Re: Test drive report

Rich, I've had a Boxster and no matter how good a GT4 is, it's still not-a-911. Itch that has to be scratched one day. yeah, I do get it. Though, there's an awful lot of boxster/Cayman that IS a 911 these days. Theres a guy on YouTube who bought a boxster to strip and he started seeing more and mor...

Re: Test drive report

I think I'd rather a GT4 than a "normal" 911. A GTS would be a very nice daily driver though.

Re: Royal Family

That's kind of the bit I hate the most! Along with the House of Lords. Unelected people having final sign offs on important decisions, just because their dad did, or some corrupt PM owed them a favour and stuck them on the list. And yet look at the sorts that actually do get elected  there is ...

Re: Royal Family

I'm very conflicted on the whole thing.

I get the idea of having a royal family, but I think they own far too much of the country.

I have no interest in their day to day lives but wouldn't want to lose them entirely, because once they're gone, that's hundreds of years of tradition gone.

Re: The Movie Thread

@Ascender we saw it at our local Picture House cinema, and when it finished, the audience was very quiet/stunned As we've both said, it's so overwhelming, I'm not quite sure if it was actually any good Will look forward to watching it again at home, where I can have the sub-titles on! (I got a lot ...

Re: Euromillions immediate purchase

There's not many of my friends or family that actually need money - they're not massively wealthy, but they aren't the sort to need loads more. You hear all sorts of stories about some families and their petty squabbles over things like inheritances etc and it's about as far from us as you can get. ...

Re: Euromillions immediate purchase

Being 100% honest, if I won I’d wait till I saw the money in my accounts then go see a few people who mean a lot to me and pay off houses, buy them cars, just stuff you otherwise wouldn’t be able to do. without a doubt, no point being minted if your close friends and family are struggling in any way!
