Re: Decent car YouTubes

So what's the outcome on the ones that don't make it? Is that likely to be terminal?

Re: Not being able to drive VS boring car

The age old problem (not the seizures - that sounds rubbish, hope it's ok soon). Buying boring cars because you think you have to grow up, then being surprised that you're not so interested in cars/driving...

Re: The Worst facelift.

Yep, most stuff where they've removed pop up headlights look worse.

Most of the late 80s - early/mid 90s french hatchback facelifts look worse with hindsight to me. Renaults, Peugeots, etc.. even though at the time they looked better. R19, Peugeot 106/306, etc

Re: The greatest facelift?

First thought was the E46 M3 where the only visual changes were to the rear numberplate plinth and fitment of LED rear lights. But that’s being facetious. Can you imagine how odd the E46 M3 would look with the softer, facelifted front end on it? Eeewww. people have done it - Tim Shaw (Car SOS) did ...

I'm happy to say the blob eye was also a great facelift to the bug eye.

Best facelift I can think of was the Bug eye to the hawkeye Impreza.

Re: The greatest facelift?

996.1 to 996.2 takes some beating for me (with apologies to any owners of the former, the latter looks massively more cohesive to these eyes) 8-) https://www.total911.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/TNE166.996GT3index.Porsche911996_mainshot.jpg https://images.pistonheads.com/nimg/43819/porsche-911-g...

Re: The Movie Thread

We watched it last night and enjoyed it. Like you say, it was depressingly close to reality with politics and tech. It was good fun though with plenty of good performances from the all Star cast. Yeah, was kind of like being clubbed to death by subtext but it had some laughs. Going to rewatch the b...

Re: People complaining about the ULEZ

I guess that next time we go up, we'll leave the 45mpg car and take the 410bhp 25mpg car instead as it meets the emissions standards.

Re: People complaining about the ULEZ

Annoyingly we got a fine for this through yesterday. My missus had driven up to the natural history museum a few months back with no ULEZ needed, but it seems they've changed the boundaries, so when we did the same journey this month we got a fine. Rats. £80 seems an awful lot for this too...

Re: Harry’s Garage

I like the Jag, though I think the green is a bit too modern for it, but I reckon its pretty good value for such a sorted car. I did like it when it was blue too though - and I'm pretty sure it used to sit a little lower - which suited it better.

Re: Happy Christmas everyone

We were having chicken for dinner as we all know turkey is like cardboard but when my wife went to prepare it it was still partially frozen. A few hours later it was thawed so she warmed the oven and shoved the chicken in to cook. For some inexplicable reason when she did this she also turned the o...

All the black bits are but the bonnet is aluminium and the ‘bumper’ is cheapo plastic too
good (ish) - it always seems dumb when you hear about lambos etc with CF bumpers that cost tens of thousands to replace.

But they have clear rules on their website - so no excuse really.
There was an Elf in each carriage and they did hee-haw to push mask wearing. Too busy trying to force us to clap and sing 🙁
Sadly not pushing the Elf & Safety message.
