Re: The Watches Thread

i don’t know anything about watches, but can’t see the aesthetic similarity? The first two have VERY similar shape case/lugs, the LLD doesn’t have much in common with either? The lugs are the complete opposite in terms of the way they curve? Hecla https://farm1.staticflickr.com/893/27648533548_d286e...

i Googled that - it looks nothing like it?

Re: Car/window stickers?

Can we just have some plain “OV9” jobbies ? I’d be up for a couple at least. Just put your old Evo stickers on the other side of the glass. This. I'm still not sure if the aim of this was to retain some kind of link to the EVO forum, or whether the idea was to completely distance it from the mag. T...

Re: The Watches Thread

“All performing the same irrespective of watch brand” isn’t necessarily true of bought-in movements - ETA certainly make their movements available in different levels of finish and feature set (standard, elaboré, top and COSC certified, IIRC) and that’s before the manufacturer applies any of their ...

However, bad examples - no one buys a caterham for the engine (in fact they show no virtually allegiance to any specific engine in the range) On the contrary, 1/2 of Caterham discussion boards are full of discussion caused by allegiance to one engine or another. Ditto Lotus forums and again, it's g...

Re: The Watches Thread

I have to say that I find it quite odd that people would pay so much for a watch with a mechanical movement that isn’t even unique to the manufacturer - especially when it could be bought for a few hundred quid elsewhere. I think it boils down to "people are weird", RIch - either it seems...

Hamilton knew straight away that he was fucked when he radioed in to ask why he had cars with brand new tyres behind him during the safety car period.

Maybe we need some old school petulant Lewis who would probably have just gone for the pitlane without being told!

Re: The Watches Thread

I’m not fussed about expensive watches (not saying anyone else is wrong for liking them), I don’t really get the point of a watch that costs thousands and have no interest in what movement they have. I quite like russian and military style watches and I currently have Vostok Europe Anchar (that I li...

Beany. Just to make sure it’s clear - You do not need to pay for someone else's cat. EFA Hush now. (and besides, we're both cat people and I owe her a favour or three after cocking a couple of things up) Animals are not to be used for apologies. They live for 10/15 years+ (Similar to a dog is not j...

What a great race. Red Bull as a team we’re on fire, Ricciardo drove brilliantly, Max needs to learn some patience and I enjoyed seeing Vettel do badly. I loved the interview between Toto Wolff and the Sky guys. Simon: “You should have pitted” Toto: [looks at watch] “Yes, 30 minutes after the race ...

I know there’s a few of you on here, I stumbled across a great shop in Tring near Aston Hill yesterday that has a load of beautiful classic 1990s high end bikes on display around the shop. Apparently the owner has a collection of hundreds - The teenage shop assistant was probably a bit confused by t...
