Re: Karting in the Rain
It’s not a bad place is it Matt Lad that runs it, Tom, has a monstrous M240i - very quick! Yeah, spotted the 240i - or my newphew did. There's what looks like a garage/workshop behind the track so figured it was one of theirs! Yep, he has a workshop that does BMW under his name He does/did a bit of...

Re: Your fleet running reports
The M2 has just had it's first proper service at 14k miles. Nothing to report other than a rear light cluster replaced under warranty. I haven't even put tyres on it yet. I like everything about it. It always feels like an event driving it as did my 996 but far more practical and therefore usable. ...

Re: Tesla experiences
Evo - the thrill of tax reliefs  ;) It's the only real excitement from electric cars, isn't it? Reminds me, what the hell is Porsche’s Electric Sport Sound on the Taycan!? I’m not sure a louder electric sound will be any better... It is an odd decision. Will we learn to love the sound of...

Re: Tesla experiences
It's definitely worth looking into as you can claim 100% first year allowances on a new one. It has to be bought new and not leased. As an example (for anyone looking - not just Jobbo), a new Model 3 (circa £50k) will reduce your corporation tax by £9,500 (current tax rates). As you've noted above, ...

Re: Tesla experiences
It's a limited company. I reckon the 530d xDrive should beat my old A6 Allroad's economy at a steady 80mph cruise, so 45mpg was about what I thought feasible. I'd rather have the 530d than the 520d of course! Oh completely - it's night and day difference between a 520d and 530d. The 530d is really ...

Re: Tesla experiences
I won't be putting 21"s on it, no  The thing is, 140 miles is the basic commute, which is straight up the M5 and M6 (68 miles of the journey is motorway) so if you add any distance for a diversion and possibly seeing a client on the way home, you're rapidly using up the 60 miles of spare ...

Re: eBay 996 build thread
It’s probably £15k minimum. I’d want to do it properly so crate engine rather than scrapyard, proper ECU etc. What I want is a de-stroked LS3, which is the 6.2 block with the crank from the 4.8 Vortec for 5.6 litres and (with appropriate parts) 600+bhp and 9000rpm. Not cheap, but not as expensive a...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I think my batter may finally be on its last legs. Left the supermarket earlier and it was intermittently bonging the bonnet open warning at me (it wasn't). Then the alarm has gone off this arvo whilst it's sat on the drive. Will give it a test later. Fairly sure it's original so 13yrs and 121k isn...

Re: Tesla Model 3
Given the near zero BIK charge and 100% writing down allowance for Ltd companies they are really attractive financially. The performance of the Performance :? model looks incredible 8-) So it's a car for the accountants then? Urgh. Not quite a car for accountants - we're too tight to buy one ;) But...
Re: Corvette
I quite like the look of the exterior, and as it's mid-engined I suppose an RHD version might not be out of the question... If new Mustang sales over here compared with any previous iteration that was LHD only are anything to go by, it might happen. Here's hoping, as I'm getting depressed with cont...
