A lovely car and great two car garage
Are the V6 diesel crank issues a common thing, or over-hyped by the internetz? I hear conflicting stories of whether the LR approved used warranty covers snapped cranks.

Re: FarmerOwned
There was one case of people letting themselves into farmer's fields to park, resulting in the farmer going in with a muck spreader and covering the cars in shit  https://www.fwi.co.uk/news/poll-was-farmer-right-to-spray-slurry-on-parked-car Now I feel stupid - I swear I recall it happening oo...

Re: FarmerOwned
Well I'm sure that could've been resolved in a more amicable manner :) There's been a lot of issues over bad/inconsiderate parking in the Lakes during the last few weeks. Some of it resulting in emergency vehicles not being able to get through. There was one case of people letting themselves into fa...

Re: No F1 thread?
Lord knows what is happening to Bottas. A really poor weekend for him. It's becoming an increasingly regular occurrence, you could very easily see LH winning the DC and RB winning the CC on account of having the stronger aggregate driver lineup. Merc may regret not bringing in GR for this season. A...

Re: No F1 thread?
From what I heard he switched it off but knocked it on again at some point. A mistake nonetheless. Max didn't really deserve to lose his championship lead today, so although it's an unforgiving sport, today it was a just result. I'm happy for Perez, and strangely I felt happy to see Seb up there. W...

Hamilton to miss the next GP after testing positive for Covid. It scuppers his chances of having 100 wins by the close of the season.

Those hand car wash places will sort that out. The tfr they use is basically diluted acid  I was thinking that - originally I thought it was their spray that fucked the 3m vinyl however it was just the bonnet so we deduced it was the extra heat from my chipped turbo. The bonnet scoop stickers ...

Re: Odd car wants.
If we didn't live at opposite ends of the country yes!, plenty of green lanes round here though. I drove Boggle Hole in my A6 Allroad a few years ago. Took that down quite a lot of green lanes without considering it green-laning at the time. Anyway, cheap 4wds are great fun. Get something Japanese ...

Re: Suggest a car
Volvo's are a good shout. Although for some reason I have it in my mind that the XC70 has a huge running cost. Skoda is also a good idea. The estate doesn't need to be huge MK5 Golf or slightly larger. I think the XC70s have the weak Geartronic gearbox. How about a Jag XF Sportbrake? 3.0 V6 diesel ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Felt a slight vibration, then before I could fully read the error message advising me to slow down to 50 mph due to a puncture it turned into a rather big vibration. Weirdly it didn’t fail where it blistered but half the tyre wall came apart - still managed to nurse it 40 miles back home. Guess I c...

Another new car (not mine either  ) My OH and I fancied buying a car to tinker with and potentially use on track-days. Amy loves EK9 Civics/DC2 Integras but these aren't exactly cheap! We went through various options but the only one we both agreed on was an R53 Cooper S. Spec/model-wise, it wa...

New car (not mine) Dad took delivery of his new company car on Friday. His old 530d (in the background) is due to go back next week and in the foreground is his new 530e. When the 5 series facelift was announced earlier this year, I warned dad his new car (already on order) was likely to be out of d...

I wonder if it'll get a power hike to bridge the gap to the new GP.

Re: Mini JCW thoughts
The R56 GP2 I’ve driven was laugh out loud fun. Front end grip was incredible and the brakes were excellent too. Not particularly practical however if there’s more than 2 of you. The set up/balance that provides the great front end grip also means the handling can be ‘interesting’ in the wet with c...
