Re: BBQs

So it's April now and we're looking forward to BBQ season. I'm really missing the BBQs we had in Brazil last year so are looking at rotisserie attachments for our Weber kettle. Has anyone else got one and how well does it work? I also see there are other non-Weber branded ones for half the price ar...

There were a few M140i(240i) at one point, at least 4 or 5.

Re: Most powerful car you've driven

400 odd for both the E92 M3 and my mates 996 Turbo.

Both fairly modest these days but the 996 was savage to a ton and i just checked that they do it in circa 8sec which is still rapid 8-)

Re: Ftaof jamcg

I'm not particularly handy but have changed a few of those in my wifes houses. The main fill/flush part is quick release, turn it 90' and lift out. The flush button is quick release as well. A bit cheeky of the landlord but the stuff we've sent plumbers out for over the years and nothing is wrong, u...

Re: Today’s want

...but feel manual well maintained 986/996's are ridiculously cheap... Are they ? I looked on Autotrader the other day and ignoring all the undesirables (autos, convertibles, and 4WD ones) the cheapest 996 was £15k. That's about 50% up from a few years ago. And more like £20k for something decent. ...

Re: Today’s want

3l Z3 Is that the Nikasil liner issue? Memory thinks that was the 2.8, but also thinks I never really knew in the first place :) The Z3 and S2000 both have incidences of bore wear etc but my poorly worded point was they are coveted cult classics, Boxsters are cheaper than 924's now ! lol

Re: Today’s want

No both manual, a 3.2 and a 3.4. I appreciate your point that auto's are more prevalent to failure but feel manual well maintained 986/996's are ridiculously cheap and a great deal of this is due to internet folklore. You look at Honda S2000's and 3l Z3 starting to be coveted and Boxster's are still...

Re: Today’s want

Prevalence of major engine failure in M96/97 engines is grossly exaggerated on the internet. I recall reading a bulletin from an engine builder possibly Hartech that they estimated it to be sub 5% and when you factor in short journey cars and those with lack of or poor maintenance it would be minis...

My mate had a Phase 2 in the 90s and I remember vividly it letting go at 150mph chasing another mate on a Honda Blackbird on the way to Aberdare Races :D

There's a little picnic area with bench where a budding Youtuber can sit with their camera. I was hoping to get a video of someone videoing drivers (this time next year, Rodders...) but nothing to see. https://i.imgur.com/zo5VkLV.jpg You'll need to keep an eye on that Swan, it'll break your arm tha...

Bosch here as well. Cool 45' wash does pretty much everything daily and I run it hot once a week to clean it through. Must be 6 year old and like new.

GG, what is the underlying problem that caused the collapse of SVB? Is it exactly the same as Northern Rock? You’d have thought being obliged to hold higher cash reserves would prevent a similar run, but it’s never 100% safe until there’s enough cash to cover all of the deposits of course. ETA: of ...

£25k.

I'll stick with that but since noticed the engines alone seem to be worth more lol
