Re: Your fleet running reports

The Smart car sold for asking price a couple of weeks back after relisting it on eBay as a classified, buyer paid cash and seemed happy with the purchase, I hope it treats him well. Not much to say about it in terms of the EOTR, it served a purpose but the iQ (which is only one generation newer) rea...

Re: Single versus two car argument

I have four cars, two of which are used on a regular basis, the iQ for local trips and the BMW which is used for longer journeys and going to the office (although not now). These tend to be taxed/insured/MoT'd on a rolling basis and I rely on a mix of reminders via post and email (for insurance and ...

Nice! I think they are very cool.

How well built/ robust are the iq?
It's early days but it seems good. Everything feels nice and solid and the leather is better than in my 1 series.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Crafters has a clean bill of health off my tuna, there’s no records of a timing belt change so that and a new water pump are going on, plus the new towbar and oem rear step so all good to go. Remap probably this weekend, interestingly it’s mechanically identical to the higher powered version so I a...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I like that. Shame they didn’t continue making them as they’re more relevant than ever. It seems Toyota did license the basic design to a Chinese company who sell an EV version for China only, not sure if it is related to the Toyota EV version, but it doesn't look too bad, maybe a bit Hello Kitty: ...

New arrival: https://i.imgur.com/wJ1Oqj4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/WPaftwN.jpg After 5 years of ownership the Smart finally burnt its bridges with me so I've replaced it with this. It's a 1.33 four cylinder petrol, CVT, 59 plate with 18k miles, and has got pretty much every option on it - Satnav with ...

True, the T-56 is the path of least resistance, buying one is beaucoup dollar but then you save time and money on ease of fitting it.

Re: Project Redneck

Balls. Aren't yank auto boxes pretty simple and therefore cheap to rebuild ? There’s a bloke in the UK that will do a full rebuild of a 700R4 box for £850, apparently. A T-56 6 speed manual is about double that. I have a T-56 in the Spazda and tbh I wouldn't bother with one, they are heavy, expensi...

Re: Flightradar24 fans

Great find, I love Flightradar24 but it not showing military/police stuff was a bit crap. I'm near-ish to Biggin Hill so get a lot of smaller/weird stuff fly over (one regular is a Piaggio P180 Avanti which has twin pusher propellors, it's really noisy but cool), but saw this one earlier, weird trac...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I attempted to change the ball joint on the Smart car last weekend, as usual nothing was easy and one of the bolts that holds it to the upright is seized in place. For some reason Smart decided the best Idea was to put the bolt in from the disk side so that you have to take the brake caliper, brake...

Seems a trend may have been started. Kent Clicky YouTube vid is easier to see. https://youtu.be/Ym-aClKrCuI I saw some vids from this walloper a couple of weeks back - going nuts on residential roads. Towards the end of that vid he’s doing 180+ adjusting the phone zoom with one hand and waving the ...

Simon, would 100mph have been ok? What about 200mph where legal in Germany? There’s nothing innately dangerous about speed alone. I agree speed doesn’t kill. Dangerous driving does. That’s exactly what he did the moment he decided to hoof it and film his own speedo and drive one handed, speed becam...

Re: Your fleet running reports

You're welcome, planning a purchase for the Camaro? I was but the Camaro wheel is 3.5”. I wonder if there’s an adaptor out there somewhere? Incidentally, the Camaro is an astonishing mix of imperial and metric which makes finding the right tool a bit hit and miss  Looks like there is: https://...
