Re: The Watches Thread
I would have the same concern and since Blaken basically double the price of the Rolex, that is not something I’d be happy with. But even my Orient Raven Ray is completely unmarked so it may not be an issue.

Re: The Watches Thread
I have mentioned a few times how much I liked the Blaken PVD Rolex I’ve seen - it was a Milgauss and looked stunning. I’d still like one.

Not somewhere I’ve ever been to buy a car but I have heard people say that. And Keighley, obvs.

Re: Today’s want
Just to potentially save you the journey, Leicester is one of those places I don’t buy cars from now. Too many wasted trips to see misrepresented cars there - like Birmingham and High Wycombe. Sorry, decent sellers in these towns and cities; you may exist but sadly it’s not worth the effort to find ...

If you manage to forfeit the lease you’ll at least have a paper profit for all you’ve spent.

Re: Lotus Emira
Are the V6s proving reliable? Against an Alpine A110 at over £60k now, they’re not far off at £72-73k for a 2023 car with ~2000 miles. Obviously good finance offers on the Alpine sway things a bit but there will be immediate £10k depreciation to counter that.

I’d prefer a Venturi to that.

The judge did exactly the right things there - excellent work.
Re: 737 Max
Blimey, the amount of conspiracy theory nonsense posted in response (that this is to scare us into agreeing to travel restrictions and staying in our 15 minute cities) is incredible. Are all bots conspiracy theorists or is this actual people?

Re: Euromillions immediate purchase
Unlikely that my perfect home exists so I'd probably be building my own. Therefore I'd be land shopping rather than house shopping. The problem with that approach is that the best locations already have a house built on them, or if they haven't you may not get planning consent. Also, if you buy an ...

That's bed and breakfasting, Dave - you need to wait 30 days before buying again to avoid CGT: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/be ... t-deal.asp

Managed to get in to see that house which popped up for sale. 500 mile round trip with some fun twisty bits at the end of it, came back, put an offer in and its been accepted. They have some summer bookings in July, so will aim to settle at the end of that month and will start moving stuff up to th...

Re: Mesh wifi
We aren't decorating or renovating, and the building is so complicated I don't know how feasible it would be. Probably OK from a room to the next room, but not to the other end of the house which is what would be useful. Anyway, I've ordered a Netgear Orbi system, Wifi 6 and reduced to £359 at Costc...

Re: Mesh wifi
It is really quite hard to sift through the 'reviews' online for these things now - I miss the days of Tom's Hardware and Anandtech being independent and good. But it does appear they use it for backhaul and I won't be hard-wired; that's why I'm going for a mesh setup because there is no cabling.

Re: Mesh wifi
There is a reason not to get 6E - it’s vastly more expensive. I was hoping it meant better range or a more stable connection; I really don’t need it just for the speed improvement.

1WY - I think - on a previous generation RR Sport. Wasn’t completely sure because the rear plate had fallen off and I only glimpsed the front plate in my mirror. Not a good look for the glam lady of a certain age who was driving
