Re: Your fleet running reports
Surely there’s a ready market for an engine from a classic Le Mans car now; sell it and pay off the mortgage?

Re: Your fleet running reports
First longer trip in the RR at the weekend - wafted up to Oxford and back in supreme comfort all the time averaging >30mpg (up to 34.9 at one point!) Fits right in parked outside a nice Oxfordshire pub for lunch https://i.imgur.com/Prwu3xy.jpeg I initially thought this was the Trout but now not so ...

Are you funding Duncs’ purchase, Rich? You seem very invested in the decision.

Re: The lawn mower thread
My Izy ran a bit quicker after being serviced last year. I’ve never bothered to find out how to adjust it.

Re: Which boring car...
Yeah, mileage is the problem Ian. Don't really know what it will be, but it will be quite a lot. just make sure the excess mileage cost plus the fuel is within your mileage claim rate. And if you do this, Duncs, check whether there’s a two tier excess mileage rate. My Volvo lease was cheap for extr...

Re: Road tax and what it means to you
Surprised several of you pay monthly given it costs more. Just paod mine for 12mo - £340 this year. Not sure what the Superb is other than A Lot cheaper I pay monthly for two reasons: - when changing cars I never have to wait for a refund from the DVLA - it’s rolling, so you don’t need to remember ...

Re: Road tax and what it means to you
I pay for tax on the Jimny, Mini and Merc. The total for all three is about £60/month, with the Merc being (just) the cheapest. Good old two tonne diesel

Re: WiFi Signal Boosters
Google have just launched Google WiFi (not to be confused with Nest WiFi). It's £189 for 3 pucks. Just launched? I've had Google Wifi for about 3 years. It's not bad; easy to use, bit pricey, needs restarting from time to time (which you do via the app, no need to go round turning them all off and ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Also new tyres all round ordered for the MINI, to be fitted Thursday. Nothing special but a) new and b) not RFTs. I'm hoping for a noticeable difference from the 6yo P-Zero RFTs that are on there right now. Tyres fitted yesterday. Ordered from Black Circles and I paid the extra £8 or whatever to ha...

That's what I use too - and I saw recently that clicking on the U removes everything except the military aircraft.Pete_ wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 7:28 am Did it not show up on Flightradar then? I also use this one which shows things such as police / military aircraft that don't appear on Flightradar https://globe.adsbexchange.com/

Re: Busted
You'd have to go to court (which means you're already onto a loser) for the mitigation to become relevant. And it's not mitigating circumstances to get off the charge, it's mitigation to limit the impact if you'd suffer undue hardship (for example, a larger fine and a shorter ban if that may affect ...

Re: Which boring car...
Closest thing I can find to your criteria is this Mondeo; a 1.5T rather than 2.0 so you’d need to work out whether it’s worth spending a couple of grand more on a 320i to benefit from the better mileage rate: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 5142593591

Re: Which boring car...
Mazda 6 was on my list of possibles 18 months ago. Not a bad choice, though I was after a diesel and I’m not sure what the petrol engines are like. Passat too; not sure what you get within budget nor what the petrol versions are like. Volvo V60? Not massive nor that interesting to drive but quite fu...
