Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Struggling to find my motorbike photos , but I dug a few out of my Serrow from 2007. Did thousands of miles on it as I used it to commute every day (13 miles each way) for a couple of years until it got written off. Quite a diddy thing, but amazingly capable off road. https://i.imgur.com/gutMkqe.jp...

Re: New new new new Top Gear

I don’t know.. there must be limits to H&S. otherwise the IoM TT would’ve bankrupt the organisers years ago. I guess TG has some pretty ironclad contracts to prevent anyone on their show suing them afterwards. The cost of Public Liability Insurance very nearly cancelled all motorcycle road raci...

Re: New new new new Top Gear

For quite a while, I've been amazed that many of stunts that they do on TG and the Grand Tour get through any safety assessment, or H&S for that matter. They seem to take far too many risks and there's now a history of presenters badly injured as a result. All for some light entertainment... It'...

Re: Let’s have a heated debate.

Switched to an iPhone a little while back from a OnePlus 6T. I still think that there's not enough difference these days for it to matter that much for most people. There are things that iPhones do slightly better than an Android phone, and vice-versa. I'd only consider an Android phone which doesn'...

Mind you even the Mercedes looked a few years of catering budget behind the Red Bull in terms of complexity.

Being a remainder doesn't mean he'd be daft enough to push for a Brenter vote. That ship has sailed, we can't go back in the short term. Yeah, exactly. He clearly knows it's too devise a subject and will lose votes if he made a stand and said that under Labour we'd seek to re-enter the EU however l...

Re: Coaster/YK

Been looking back on my old messages to YK, above is a more recent one he sent to me. Years ago we met up at Snetterton and almost straight away he offered to let me drive it on track. Being so rusty with driving on track, I said I'd drive it on the road if that's okay with him. This would be the s...

Re: Who is living their best life?

Lost of very poignant stuff... You know, what happened to you is such a terrible thing but to go through it at your age is particularly shitty. It is really great to see you're doing well - I genuinely mean that despite know knowing each other really. Long, long, long may it continue... Exactly tha...

Re: Who is living their best life?

I've been close to death more times than I wish to remember, and I've seen the final days of many great men I'll never forget. I've yet to spend an evening alone to self analyse and contemplate it all as I seem to hit a mental block even after many years but I have discovered a lot about myself and...

I’ve just been reading back through this thread, it’s lovely to see just how many people he knew and friends he’d made through his passion for cars. So I felt it appropriate to make myself a user account. I first met YK back in 2014 when we both started our training together in ipswich. It was of c...
