Re: Decent Recent TV

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01q9d86/winterwatch-1963-the-big-freeze Watched that when it was on BBC2 before Christmas. Had no idea that we'd had a winter that lasted for so long in Britain. The country seemed to be at a standstill for more than a couple of months. Even my parents were on...

Re: Local News Websites

I'm surprised this hasn't come up already, but if you wanted the finest of compo faces, those desk-jockeys at the council being at it again, credulous reports of big cats (sorry, CATs) and other such local news shenanigans, Angry People In Local Newspapers on FB is an extremely well curated list of...

Re: Holiday pricing??

Yeah it was the same last year tbh. Cost us nearly a grand just for flights to Malaga and that was outside the main summer hols period. Pre COVID it was more like half that. We've just been looking for city breaks in Europe for Feb half term and the prices are eye watering. Unless you're willing to...

Re: Wireless Mobile Charging

The cradle in the car is also a wireless charger. I'd be miffed if I had to go back to plugging the phone in all the time. My Audi has a wireless charger built in, but doing Carplay wirelessly is laggy and that annoys me. So I plug it in, which charges the phone anyway and therefore avoid putting i...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Kona off side wiper is finished after only 11 months. No visible damage but I've tried to clean them twice and made no difference. They're hybrid wipers so have the older hook fixing. Valeo seem to do the best ones of that type, and I hate the universal fixings as they stick up above the blade and t...

Re: Finding the BEST ownbrand supermarket Curry.

£50 for a takeaway for 2?! Fucking hell! I like in Saltburn by the Sea, nearest Waitrose is Newcastle, 50 miles away and the only one I'm aware of 'locally'. That's closed now as well. I think the closest one will be in Hexham, unless there's another south of you which is closer. There is a small o...

Re: Gavster's Mince Pie Ranking 2021 (now inc NEW 2022 updates)

Another to add this list are Morrison's baked in store mince pies. I ordered some of the puff pastry ones in our online shop but the standard ones came instead. Nearly as tall as they are wide and full to the brim with quite a strong alcohol flavour and a good mix of orange and currants/whatever non...

I have worked on cars - changed spark plugs, brake discs and pads in the past but when it only costs about 30/40 quid to pay someone to change them I've not bothered since. Normally it's rounded off bolts and stuff that needs a bit of heat and I haven't got the tools or experience to do that so it e...

A great buy for you to "create content" for the forum 😎 This! Nice buy. But yeah, those wheels.... Yeah, they are a bit shit. I might look into a set of MV2s when I'm not crying into my wallet. It's just personal preference, but I've never liked M-sport wheels on an SE. Embrace the SE-nes...

How about a 2011 (MK3) Focus with the fabulous 1.6 Ecoboost engine anddddddd....... heated seats? I'm also probably over 200 miles away from you so probably not that convenient.

Re: EV Thread

Our Kona has gone from about 260/270 in the summer to 204 on a full charge this morning. The 1 1/2 mile drive back from school was only 2.2m/kw, whereas it can be over 10 normally as it's mostly downhill. Heating is not the EV's friend!

https://youtu.be/ydQwQtgiExw One of Jonny Smith's car cave episodes with Mike Brewer. Re: Auto heated screens.

I think being able to pre-heat the Kona using my phone is the greatest single feature it has. You can pre-heat to a set temperature on it's own or also add screen defrost, heated rear screen and mirrors and turn the heating steering wheel on. It's obviously not exclusive to EVs or PHEVs but it must ...

Re: New Civic Type R

I read in Autocar yesterday that they're only importing 100s rather than 1000s because of emissions so that's probably why it's 47k. They can charge what they like and enough people will still buy them I guess. It's nearly 10k more than the last version but for the depth of engineering, I actually d...

Yes, I regret setting up Spotify on my Google Home for my little boy.
The top 4 of my 5 are Encanto soundtack songs courtesy of my girls!

Foals were my most played overall, increasing my creditability slightly.
