Re: Your fleet running reports

New addition – Land Rover Freelander 2 A purchase borne out of necessity. With the miles piling on the Mini, I decided I wanted a daily. I’m doing more and more miles for work, so this was a factor too. With a second dog and my first season as a beater at a local shoot, the choice was being narrowe...

New addition - F56 Cooper S This is MrsB's new car, which she got in December. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48238949097_398872ee69_o.jpg Untitled by mikeyb , on Flickr It's interesting comparing it to my Mini and both have positives and drawbacks compared to each other. Hers is a more-modern...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Updates/New Additions Monaro Is sold. With various issues on an engine rebuild, I'd fallen out of love with it. I dearly miss having a V8 in my garage, but I would want to start with a clean slate and try something different. Looking back through my photos, I don't have a single picture of it from ...

Nice write up Duncs. Any ideas/thoughts as to what you will get in the future? I imagine it will be a tough act to follow in respect of driving thrills.

Re: New Car

It's not the Hartech one, it was a cheaper on but has also had an engine rebuild, but no idea where or how well it was done, so a bit of a risk. It's tatty, the headlights being the obvious thing externally, plus a mark on the rear bumper. The front seats are pretty fucked and the steering wheel ne...

As the owner of another two seat hatchback, I thoroughly approve 8-)

Coincidentally I was just looking at these on AT - I had a thought that one of these could replace the GP2.

Re: Cheap off-roader

Re clearance, I think they're 200mm. You can get 2" lifts for them if you needed more. Would probably compromise on-road handling though.

Have you had any thoughts about tyres? The BFG A/T KO2s seem to get rave reviews.

Re: Cheap off-roader

Since last posting in this thread, I have also turned down a free 240k mile Nissan X-Trail. However, I am probably going to buy a 2006-14 model Suzuki Grand Vitara. Nobody suggested it, but it's got proper 4wd with a low-range transfer box; it looks quite cool (like a cross between a Rav4 and a Gra...

Great write up 8-) Interesting thoughts re the comparison to the Golf.

Regarding the brakes, is it true the M3/M4 pads fit as the caliper is the same?

I daren’t show my other half that picture as she’ll want another three dogs 😁 Crazy dog lady Mrs A would happily have 5 dogs. Our Friends have 4. They started with none after worrying that the cat woudnt get on with dogs. I then told her that our old dog Holly's sister was having a litter and to &q...

Excellent work there fella! Demonstrates that not all breeders are unscrupulous tossers - some actually like their animals and go to great lengths to protect them from twats like the original buyer. Was Diesel his original name or one that you gave him when you got him? Cheers 👍 His original name w...

Re: 4 Paw Dog Drive Fleet running report

The breeder found out and shamed the lad in giving it back for a full refund. Not the best start to the dog's life. He's in a happy home with a friend now though (well, until they fall out over the bed) 8-) I know, it’s not nice. The worst thing is the lad is wanting to become a game keeper,...

New Addition Meet Diesel, a nine week old black lab. We heard on Saturday about him being available and picked him up yesterday. It all seemed to happen so quickly, but getting a second dog is actually something we've been considering for a while. Pics from the seller: https://farm8.staticflickr.co...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Do the V10 Touaregs not have two batteries? I'm sure I read there's an ignition key sequence to get the car to use the other battery to start it. You're right, they do, one in the boot and one under the passenger seat. But I was under the impression the car was vaguely "smart" and would f...

How's the Touareg generally been to run SJ? No large bills?
