Re: Your fleet running reports
M2 is now 6 months old so I thought I'd treat it to a wash, pretty much the first time since I've had it. I also waxed most of it using Autoglym HD Wax which left a great finish, I'm not sure where this premium ish product came from as I certainly wouldn't have spent £40 on a wax  Nothing else...

Re: Lego
They may have briefly been on offer a week or so ago at John Lewis bricks and mortar stores - not online, but the VW camper, Beetle and Mini were about 15% off. Ideas sets generally aren't discounted much or at all except when the Lego shop online sells off its last stock. So I'd not be too worried ...

Village Inn in Thurlestone, Hope Cove, South Pool. We’ve covered a fair bit. Did Bigbury to Mothercombe this morning. Having a beer now. Coast path or just driving between eateries? :D My garden looks a shitload better than it did last week. Also managed to make the spare room properly usable (by m...

Re: The Watches Thread
I certainly don’t frown on that, John - if they’ve made you wait a year for a watch you actually want to wear, it lessens the pain a bit! I take it your AD didn’t hang onto the warranty card etc?

I had a nose at XJs; I’d have one over an XF but being JLR products makes me think they’d be as unwise a purchase as my preferred L322 Range Rover.

Can I remind you of what you said when I was thinking of getting a CLS and you wanted the E class? "Why pay extra for what is essentially an E class in a pretty frock" ;) :P Yes, but this way I'm paying less for the pretty frock  The first gen CLS is the nicest one Merc have made, th...

Dennis is well-resourced, and despite the numerous lawyers on here we really aren't.

It's a nice colour but I've had two of them before, I know the gearboxes are a little less than perfectly reliable and I fancy this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201803315116507 Apart from the "wood" that's really nice. Sounds like you've pretty much set your mind on a C...

Re: New car thread
Even with the luxury pack (nappa leather, artico dashboard and alcantara headlining) they feel quite hair-shirt inside. I appreciate that they do have some of the air of a W124 which the W211 lacked, but there's just nothing massively desirable about being in one.

Re: New car thread
Not automatics. No way I'd have a manual car as my main daily driver now. And I look at the one auto 320d xDrive Touring just under £10k in a terrible colour scheme with no options and I just couldn't. Why would you over a cheaper Merc CLS? I'll just get winter tyres and use the Tacuma for anything ...

Re: New car thread
XC60 or X3? 3 series xdrive estate? Think you’ll be disappointed with all of them though after your Allroad. That's the thing - never particularly liked the X3 in comparison to the X5 and they aren't that cheap (the original shape is a bit old anyway) so I'd just stump up the extra for an X5. 3-ser...

Thanks for making links automatically clickable, Matt. Is it possible to make them open automatically in a new tab?

Re: New car thread
I could get an A6 Allroad of the previous generation to mine too... however, I think that's a recipe for dissatisfaction!
A 2010-ish Audi A4 Avant quattro 3.0 TDI is possible. Smaller and sportier so without being too much more of the same but old.

If they started selling Lynx at twice the RRP in store, do you think profits would go up or down?
