Re: Your fleet running reports
I've always jump started directly battery-to-battery, because that's the equivalent to having a charged battery ? I’ve always done this too. The argument I have seen a few times is this pretty much what is stated below During jump-starting, we connect the boosting battery to ground rather than to t...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Same. Everything I’ve read forever tells you not to go battery to battery, but I always have where possible because it’s usually nice and clean and a grippy shape. And I can’t see what difference it would make to anything having it earthed to another lump of metal connected directly to the battery. ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Got a call earlier asking if I could pop past the sister in laws after work as her car wouldn’t start. They ( her, my mrs and nephew ) had jump leads but couldn’t work out where to connect them as the battery is in the boot. Popped bonnet, found a red plastic cap with a + on it, connected jump leads...

Just wondered whether it could possibly be an actual failure somewhere or just some attention seeking weirdo / user error like a lot of these things turn out to be. Mk2 golf GTi was about the cheapest thing we got quotes on when my step daughter was learning. Didn’t actually fancy letting here loose in it though

Re: No F1 thread?
Lando was lucky with the start. It was a very obvious jump which left him out of position. He did come to a complete stop, and made a poor actual start, and no other drivers reacted to his jump. It seems the stewards actually used some common sense there despite it being an east penalty to prove.

Re: Euromillions immediate purchase
I’d buy an f40 and delta integrale immediately, would have to find storage for the f40 but would happily start using the lancia straight away. Would be perfectly happy with a decently sized secluded property in Norfolk/Suffolk with a large barn / workshop. I’d keep several of the cars I already have...

New old fiat 500 (no, not the rwd version)
Have fiat just admitted in the most obvious way possible that their new 500 looks worse than the model it replaced?
Is the ‘new’ fiat 500 already old enough that a current version styled to look like it is retro?

I don’t know how a Damon good thrashing is any different to a damn good thrashing but I’m sure it’s worth a try

Re: Your fleet running reports
Found a screw in the mito tyre, that explains why it was losing pressure. Thankfully a good couple of inches in from the sidewall.
Popped the tyre off, stuck a plug patch in, seems to be holding pressure fine. Job done.

Re: Your fleet running reports
A lot of modern cars don’t, and the old cigarette lighter socket is more often a 12v power supply socket which can’t take the power draw an actual lighter requires.

Exactly that.
I needed a screen for a dab display, I found them in the uk for £50, the exact same items on Ali express were £7
Most resellers just add enough extra in to cover them if they get the occasional defective unit. Buy them yourself at the cheap rate and you’re taking the punt yourself.
