Re: RFPs
Hahahahahahahahahaha I laugh in the face of your puny shenanigans. Work permits on an oil rig, it took me an hour to get a hot work permit, extinguisher, fire watchman, all to drill about 10 aluminium rivets out. Next job I used a chisel. Lifting plans, all very pretty and then get thrown aside as ...
Re: RFPs
Who do you work for? :D We've just issued an RFI to six vendors off the back of a failed RFP with one vendor who just didn't listen to anything the client wanted and did their own thing. We'll make recommendations after the RFI, the favourite option of which is... to move to RFP. Its all billable I ...

Re: A Dutch first: Ingenious BMW theft attempt
"Ramblings" is the right word for that blog. tldr - Their grand scheme was to make it look like a simple break-in without theft, while cleverly disabling the internal alarm systems, and covering their tracks as best as possible. Most likely, if I parked the car in front of our house the ne...

Yeah, this recent weather has been tough for big hairy pooches!
We've been trying to get them to the beach as much as possible as they all like swimming and the rescue one is obsessed by it

Re: Forza Horizon 4
And yesterday does look superb although I wonder how popular it will be outside of the uk, I doubt dull dreary uk has quite the same global appeal as somewhere nice and hot and sunny... Some of the footage I've seen looks absolutely stunning - I seem to remember there's stuff modelled on the Scotti...

Longer update, but what the hell, everyone loves dog pictures right? First guide dog puppy Ben is now fully qualified and is looking after a man in Belfast. We got sent this "graduation" picture of him. http://www.runyabam.com/downloads/clemfandango/dugs/bengrad.jpg Second dog Jet is going...

Re: Forza Horizon 4
Someone's just put up a 15 minute gameplay vid on Youtube (insanely irritating commentary) and the Edinburgh stuff looks insanely good. Although I still wish they'd remake Project Gotham.

Re: The Movie Thread
Empire have just done one (now two) spoiler special podcasts with Christopher McQuarrie about MI:Fallout which make for fascinating listening about the process, things they cut and everything else about the movie basically. The first one clocks in at just under 3 hours long and its great to hear an ...

Re: Cyclists - turbo trainer advice
They've just added the Innsbruck courses in to Zwift - as someone who isn't a cyclist, I made the mistake of picking one of those course to do on a rest day yesterday - by the time I finished I'd have been more dry if I'd sat in a bath for an hour.

Re: Networking your home
We put cat6 in a couple of years back and its well worth doing imho. I was put off home plugs by some of the reviews and wifi is never as reliable as it should be in terms of coverage, although some of the new mesh setups look really good.

The iPhone X is my favourite iPhone they've done, by some distance. TouchID seems positively primitive when you go back to it.

A Quiet Place - really enjoyable horror(?)/sci-fi dystopian thriller about a family trying to stay alive on an earth which has been invaded by deadly creatures who hunt by sound. Really interesting idea, very well executed and for once the main leads (for the most part) behave very logically and do...

Re: Cyclists - turbo trainer advice
I’m going to invest in something smart for the winter and swallow my distaste for Zwift. I've got the Elite Direto direct drive and it's very good, although it is my first trainer so nothing to compare it with. Halfords quite often have offers on cycling gear and with a discount they were offering ...

Re: The BMW M3 compact (e36)
8-) I remember seeing an M Compact in BMW Magazine about 15 years ago, but it was one of the tuner specials. Was either Hartge or Racing Dynamics. Never knew there was an official M Compact. I’m sure I remember one which was done in army green colour I saw at a local dealer about 20 years ago. Same...

Re: iPhone 6S - Charging issue...
Backup your phone.... Wipe it and set it up as a new phone.... See if issue is still there. If issue is gone, you can either restore your backup and see if that works (depends where the software issue is). Or just reinstall apps and content which is a PITA but that's life. If issue remains after a f...
