Re: Google definitely listens!
I was convinced my device was listening the other day when I saw an ad for car trade insureance the day after I'd been talking about it at work. Then realised when we were talking about it we were on the shop floor where it's noisy enough to have to shout at someone a meter away so there's no way a ...

1994 rover metro GTi 16v 1.8 I covet this car so much. I'm hoping V2 will be a considerable upgrade, if I ever get round to it, and would help clear some space too 😂 Tempted to just chuck the bits from the black one into the white one as they are over a couple of weekends to get it useable, but kno...

Re: F1 Thread
I don't know if it's just me getting old + Sunday afternoons, or there's something about the tone of the current engines which makes me want to fall asleep. Even during yesterday's race my eyes were getting heavy at points

I'm happy to pay a bit more for ones which stay silent forever, never smear and never wear out.

Re: Your fleet running reports
you need a really big torque wrench to tighten the hub nut afterwards. How can that be anything other than a good thing? Big torque wrenches are GREAT. My wheel nuts need tightening to 350lb/ft so I'm quite well equipped in that department 😉 And no, BMW rear wheel bearings are not something you do ...

Half decent weather also meant I managed to give the e46 its first proper wash in months. Even treated the tyres, blacked the trims and gave it a coat of wax.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Turns out what I thought was a knackered propshaft support bearing was actually the collapse of the bodge I did to fix the collapsed handbrake mechanism a couple of years back. Usual backplate corroding and pins pulling through, so I replaced with a small nut and bolt with a washer on the back, whic...
Re: F1 Thread
The highlights didn't make it clear, would the ferraris / mercs have been able to pit when the safety car was announced or were they already past the pit entrance? Although track position probably meant they would be more inclined to stay on their planned strategies anyway while redbull rolled the d...

I use imgur which works fine for posting stuff then and there, but from the mobile app at least I can't see a way to add photos to an existing album.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Needed to take the prop out to check the centre bearing which I suspected had collapsed and was making nasty noises. This involves taking the exhaust off which is the original and one piece from the flange by the front wheel to the tailpipes and weighs a lot! While it was off I thought I'd have a go...
