Re: Your fleet running reports

Fitted some "Osram Nightbreakers" to the terrible candle headlights on the Up to try and improve things. While they're a little brighter, it's the spread pattern is what makes them so terrible, the beam doesn't go far enough. Oh how I wish for the Xenon's on the old Lupo GTi! Also, the 4C ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Got a tyre pressure warning for the near side rear on the XC40 the other day. Checked it and discovered a cable clip embedded right in the shoulder where it's not repairable. The tyre's only done 4000 miles - bag of arse. Tyres on the drive (now part of Halfords) came and fitted a brand new tyre fo...

My Pixel 3a is still doing everything I need and takes great pictures. Not seen any reason to upgrade just yet.

It’s also having a few upgrades done ‘whilst it’s there’: 996 Cup Final Drive, 996 turbo 6th gear, 997 RS 4.0 clutch, 964 RS single mass flywheel, pinning coolant hoses, new water pump, and a few new suspension parts etc

Coaster1 wrote: Sun Oct 17, 2021 1:22 am I think lighter / brighter colour suits Emira better (like the blue one above). The one in Goodwood didn’t look as good and sat too high.
That's going to be the standard production height.

I like the blue. Would be my choice...but probably a darker metallic blue.

This - 6 months is also my recommendation for new Windows version avoidance.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Or could be as simple as a dodgy earth ? I’ve never had a correct diagnosis from a recovery guy, except when I told them exactly what the problem was before they started. Funnily enough that's what my tuna thought, re: bad earth. Either way, turns out alternator had seized completely. Removed the b...

Re: Your fleet running reports

When you changed it did you go through all of the OBD backup palava or just swap it out? I just swapped it out. Had it recovered today. Starter motor is overheating trying to start the engine....so either the starter is dead, which isn't too expensive....or more worrying the engine won't move. If i...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Well, it wasn't the battery. Swapped it out and still exactly the same. I'm told it's the transmission control unit....if there's one argument against the continuing domination of the auto box.....it's that I've never had a manual gearbox fail in all my car owning years. I've owned two autos, and bo...

Spotted our very own @Jobbo smashing up the M6 this morning in the Allroad. I'd have waved, but he was going too fast. Must have been doing at least 55 in traffic  Sorry I didn't spot you Matt. Up or 4C? In the Up (the 4C is still broken). I was sitting stationary heading southbound and spotte...

My mum has one, she loves it. I've driven it, and it's alright. Gearbox is the weakpoint, as they are on all Smarts.

They're much better than the previous gen ones, though.

Re: Your fleet running reports

CTEK reports battery is healthy....moves to 7th light (fully charged, no errors), except this suggests otherwise:

It's usually a good idea when buying a decent charger to avoid dead batteries to actually connect it up now and again.

Re: Your fleet running reports

4C hasn't moved for two weeks; weather has been mild and it's been left before without an issue...still, it had been on the CTEK for 2 hours prior to a trip to make sure it had enough to crank. Went upto the 4th light, which indicated at least 80% charge. But after two weak attempts to crank...it di...
