Re: Tedious but traditional New Car thread

Nice 8-) Have you tried LV for insurance? They are modification friendly too with a tick box form for various modifications which makes declaring them very easy. LV are always nsane prices for me, for instance they are £1350 for this compared to the £520 cheapest . Direct line are always bizarrely ...

Re: Tedious but traditional New Car thread

Apologies Beany, missed this thread completely! Like I said when we went out, I’m 100% certain it has been breathed on. It is a lot quicker than my previous one and the engine note is definitely not the valves jammed open. I’d get used to it as is for now then see if you want to go down the even mor...

Re: Car insurance

So far, I don't think I've ever had to pay over £1k. It's usually been around £600 for the last 20 years - with the insurance group/value of car increase offset by my age and NCB increasing! Though the cheapest policy I've ever had was my (brand new) Golf GTI which was c.£400. Cheapest I’ve had was...

Re: Car insurance

Strange how there is so much difference between out quotes. I live in a small town in the North, I'm a bit older that you but my quote is £500.

Glad it's not just me. I think that's the first time I've ever heard that being used and the wondering if it was just me.
Really? Americans always call it Legos.

Re: Weird car wants.

You seem to be always changing cars to suit a new job/commute! Do you change jobs often or am I just getting old and time is passing quickly? I can't work out if buying selling cars based on getting specific roles (rather than when you get bored of or want a new car) is a good thing or a bad thing....

Re: Weird car wants.

If a Cayman could return sensible mpg I'd be getting one believe me! I often carry 4 passengers but they are always the other half's friends so u can use her car for that!

I'll be fifty later this year but I'm still not convinced I'm old enough.
I'm 50 in July and I'm in the market for a comfy cruiser.

Re: Weird car wants.

Not sure it is such a weird want. If you need to spend long hours on a motorway there are probably few more comfortable options. Oh without doubt, I had one as a loan car for a month while my 330 was being repaired, great on fuel too but they are huge! I have no idea what running costs would be apa...

I don't think I ever saw a team principal more driven to succeed in recent years. I don't see the logic of replacing him.

Re: Decent Recent TV

Mrs Mike has been watching Fool Me Once on Netflix which means I have also been watching it. It's a murder mystery thing whose premise is that the grieving widow sees her dead hubby pop-up on a nanny cam and she starts investigating. Her husband is from a rich upper class background and there's pos...
