Re: EV Thread

Two I3's I looked at both showed full charges but one showed 130 miles and the other 151, both similar mileage cars and both 69 plate cars. I'd guess there's a lot to take onto account though, so I'm not sure without plugging it in and checking actual cell values how you would ascertain the health o...

Re: EV Thread

Yeah I wouldn't be messing about with a full EV, I'd just leave it in charge all the time at home and keep it full, I'd rather have the convenience than worry about what might or might not happen.

Re: EV Thread

I'd say if you're not keeping it forever just charge it fully and don't worry about it.

Although only a PHEV, I fully charge the Kuga most days even if it's not empty, I'd rather have all the miles I can.

Re: Tedious but traditional New Car thread

Just get a panel filter, paint the wheels grey and get a tuning box, job jobbed and insurance procured 8-) Looks a nice car from the previous thread, I've driven a couple and they're very old school fun for what's a relatively modern car, the gearbox remap seems to make a big difference, my friends ...

Re: EV Thread

IPace's are even cheaper, I really wanted one but I can't have something so temperamental at home when I'm away, and they are flaky at best.

I bet those Mercs are decent cars, a long way to fall money wise though I imagine.

Yeah the naming logic has all gone to shite now, when she said she wanted a 2 series I was hoping for an X Drive Coupe!

Re: Your fleet running reports

I put quite a half arsed advert up for the XF on another forum as I think we've finally narrowed it down to what car we're getting, a 225XE, which although gopping, ticks all the boxes for my wife so job done. They drive a lot better than they look, are pretty nippy, AWD, will do her commute on elec...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I know what you mean, they are a nice looking car, I think it's because I've been there and done that more than anything else, would just be same car with a bit of electricity stuck in it and I fancy a change. Been speaking to my friend who has a c350e and he likes it, I didn't know they had airmati...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I still haven't bought a car, I'm useless  Went back to I3's, then confirmed they're still too small, and too electric. So then looked at 225XE's but they're awful looking, but go well and are practical, but I'm not sure I can live with the looks of the thing. So maybe a C350E or 330E, but will...

Re: Your fleet running reports

We have a small issue appearing with the Bentley. We went down to my parents' place yesterday (about an hour & half of motorway) and several times on the way back it lost power for a few seconds before coming back. Not totally died, more like you suddenly took you foot off the throttle. But mas...

Re: New TV Tiime

Our old living room TV was a Philips OLED Ambilight one, the in built speakers were surprisingly good, screen ended up being shite though, it's on its third screen in 2 years now. Moved it to a bedroom and bought an LG OLED for the living room which has been much better, picture is better as well, I...

Re: Car Plans 2024

Still need to sell the XF, it's done less than 3k this year and needs replacing with something smaller as we use the Kuga most of the time.

Still not sure what to get.

Re: EV Thread

I popped in the Fisker dealer in Frankfurt last week and looked at them, seem well built, nice interiors and the paint looked good. They had a couple available for immediate delivery over there as well so they can't be in short supply. Wasn't as nice as the Porsche and Mercedes Oldtimer places I loo...

We got a bottle of tactical nuclear penguin many years ago, it was quite a lot, about75-100 quid I think, and it looked and tasted like volcanic Calpol.

Quadruple IPA.

Nice to try once, but that was enough 😂

Re: Your fleet running reports

Never had a FTP in the XF and it 11 years old now, it's probably been the car that's cost the least in maintenance I've ever owned!

There's a couple of awd GLA's local for 15k ish I might go see as they seem quite decent inside and have a big enough boot.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Sadly, knowing as much as I do about jlr products, I would never but any engine other than the 2.2, as that's the most reliable by far. They're not bad really, pretty old design, other than haldex Puno filters blocking, rear main oil seals leaking and suspension buses wearing, they're pretty good. I...
