Re: Your fleet running reports
A lot of modern cars don’t, and the old cigarette lighter socket is more often a 12v power supply socket which can’t take the power draw an actual lighter requires.

Re: Interesting custom wheel thread
Exactly that.
I needed a screen for a dab display, I found them in the uk for £50, the exact same items on Ali express were £7
Most resellers just add enough extra in to cover them if they get the occasional defective unit. Buy them yourself at the cheap rate and you’re taking the punt yourself.

Re: Offroad Supercars (a la Hurucan Sterrato / 992 Dakar)
I don’t really like then or see the point, especially as most seem to be pose mobiles with permanently attached accessories. I get the appeal of something not ground scraping and with a bit more tyre sidewall, but don’t think you need to go extreme off road to ‘cope with’ the odd speed bump and poth...

On a Facebook group saw FLT 51X on a Boxster which I thought was pretty cool.

Not a fan of the colour and definitely not a fan of the gold pinstriping. The eyeliner around the headlights in particular.

Re: Your fleet running reports
New radiator and expansion tank fitted on the x5, relatively straight forward, just a bit fiddly in places. Took the chance while I had decent access to change the AC belt and tensioner which I’ve had sat around for about a year. Couldn’t see any cracks, just a little corrosion poking through where ...

Same, I’ll quite happily save £60 and have the same parts in a slightly different box please
Re: EV Thread
I like it, but it’s still big and heavy for a small car with not much space. A sliding rear seat so you can occasionally take rear passengers with actual legs would have been handy.

Is car insurance racist?
This has been one of the leading articles on bbc radio news throughout the day. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68349396 I’m pretty sure insurers aren’t allowed to ask your race, nor adjust your premium based on it even if they did. Obviously premiums are based on historical and theoretical risk...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Ordered a radiator yesterday only for my favourite eBay car parts retailer to be included in the discount code which came out today. Have ordered a new expansion tank and cap as they’re known weak points and are of unknown vintage - probably 19 years and many heat cycles old like the radiator and it...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Ooh, forgot, later today I have to change a brake light bulb on the sister in laws 1st Gen 1 series. So far she, my mrs, and my 24 year old nephew have failed. Halfords were too busy, the local motor store tried telling her they were led panels and she would need a whole new light. I predict it wil...

Re: Your fleet running reports
X5 appears to have a leaking radiator, I think I’ll be going aftermarket for £120 rather than the £550 bmw want.
As usual with older vehicles, the question is what else to do ‘while you’re there’
To be honest, everything else looks ok so tempted just to do a coolant flush and call that it.

Re: New TV Tiime
I got us a new tv. My other half bought one of the neighbours last year, some no-brand rubbish which was too big for the room and had a terrible picture with whites which were patchy purple! Hadn’t realised how cheap a half decent tv is these days, it’s nothing particularly fancy but picked up a 43i...

I don’t know the numbers, but I imagine supra turbos are far more common the r34 GTRs. Non turbo autos are probably worth about the same as non gtr r34s

R33 and 3000gt were the horsepower kings of GT, even then I still preferred the r32.

Re: Most desirable Nissan GT-R/Skyline? (Poll part 1)
R32 the most desirable by a mile to my eyeballs. Would love one but don’t want to pay the silly money they are now. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford one when they were cheap enough that I’d be able to afford one now. I know the 35 is probably the best to drive, and definitely the fastest but there’s ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Exactly, can make something very mundane feel quite peppy to someone who’s never likely to rev their petrol engines car to anywhere near its peak power. Many years ago my dad fancied an Alfa spider and was quite underwhelmed by the 2.2 petrol so I suggested (despite always being a diesel hater) he t...

Re: Your fleet running reports
All the diesel torks. Even something like the scenic driven in a dull non-car person way will feel brisk compared to a similarly sized petrol engine car driven with the same non car person style with 4000rpm self imposed rev limiter.
