Re: For the FAO of stereoists
Lots of great advice in this so far thank you. Unfortunately I can't give you any tech specs of any of it as it's either in the UK or may have possibly just left. So I guess I'll have to get it all here first and set it up and then go from there and maybe revisit advice here. I'm also not sure any ...

Re: VOIP Phones
Depending on your broadband provider and router there should be a port at the back to plug in an adapter which in turn allows you to plug in any standard home phone (eg dect). If so, the router should have been supplied an adapter. It’ll look something like this: https://amzn.eu/d/9zn0dQX This - My...

Re: For the FAO of stereoists
To start with, plug it all in and enjoy for now, worry about ripping/streaming and upgrading later. That's probably the best advice from this thread so far. Also where i was going with it. He did say however that the speakers were huge and as a result may not be shipped. Hence the advice on buying ...

They sound far better than the pounds demanded for them suggests.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:00 am I like the Q's too, I've got two pairs of 3020 (office + garden room), and I had some 3050 in the lounge but sold them as part of a reshuffle that I can't remember the rationale for now, but I should have kept them.

Re: For the FAO of stereoists
Myself and miik spend (too) many hours talking about the above. As he says old hi fi is not necessarily bad hifi. Separates can live forever. The slight exception to this is that speakers do tend to have a lifecycle IME. I had an outstanding set of Wharfedale Valdus 400 speakers for years but one by...

Im also allergic to cats so that wont help. So was I until we got a cat 22 years ago. Then it went after a while. Spooky. I was also allergic to cats as a kid. Mrs mik had them when we met though, and I eventually got used to them and wasn't affected. Weird. Bizarrely ive gone the other way. Never ...

In other news - We have discovered evidence of mice this morning. In the past I'd have suggested getting a cat. However, it turns out that even with 11 cats chasing a live mouse around our house, I could relatively easily catch the mouse myself and put it outside. So if you do get a cat, get...

Run it past your solicitor. Tell them your remediation. Leave the disclosure call to them as they will have a better idea on what legally is your responsibility.

I use blink cameras with cloud storage for much cheapness. Some are hard wired some used lithiam batteries. Batteries last a couple of months dependant on traffic.

My uncle is a bit of a petrol head and had a white 8v identical to the one posted. It replaced his Mk2 Cav Sri that he had kept for years. It was fast but never handled as well as the cav. I remember when he was pushing it on abit the damping was a bit shit. It was a bit floaty as if the dampers wer...

Re: Rear numberplate lights
One of the rear plate bulbs on the Evora popped a few years back. As they were nasty yellow, I replaced them both with nice white LEDs using the same “should last longer than conventional bulb” theory: They aren’t super-bright though. The S1 had LED's but once again not super bright. The fact that ...

I realise this is the standard piss take response but it could be the maf. Had that with the 1.8T engine twice. Didn’t throw a CEL both times. Just lost all power. ETA - I’m sure I scanned it as well and there was no codes. Huh. Interesting. It needed cleaning, or replacing ? From my favourite supp...

Re: Your fleet running reports
We have a small issue appearing with the Bentley. We went down to my parents' place yesterday (about an hour & half of motorway) and several times on the way back it lost power for a few seconds before coming back. Not totally died, more like you suddenly took you foot off the throttle. But mas...

Re: Car Insurance (again)
The Golf was recovered a week or so back, sadly only my bobble hat was in it. I got a lovely letter from the storage yard, thinly disguised as if it was an offical police letter, telling me that as the registered owner I should come and collect the Golf and pay storage fees etc. Cue a 45 minute tra...
