Re: Your fleet running reports
We managed to avoid black box bullshit with eldest miklet. His mate had one which mandated the car had to be parked up by 11pm - cue rushing home whilst not exceeding the speed limit, but driving through several red lights in order to get there on time  This happened more than once when my bo...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Looks great fun for a first car. I'd drive that now :D Is it cheap to insure ? I know right! Seriously though, the amount of shit that's for sale at the £1500/£2000 price point now is unreal. We lucked out on this one tbh. It was the first clean car we sat in, and the only one we test drove out of ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Fitted all the parts and then new stripes to the Twingo and my daughter was off! She dropped me off at the pub then went to Tesco and whilst she was inside, someone scraped the side. One day FFS! Unfortunately not caught on the dashcam either. The scratch will buff out, but the dent will need a dent...

Re: Your fleet running reports
:D I have since changed the wheels for white ones (faster) and nothing, this time, exploded. Obviously not driven anywhere though, so you never know. Hinges on order from eBay. Windscreen being replaced next week (£250 - ouch - but Autoglass wanted over £500). Local garage can fit the hinges and ho...
Re: Ukraine
Maybe. But would Putin dare to invade a NATO country?
Re: Ukraine
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the easy way out for Ukraine is for them to very quickly become a NATO state. Obviously that's not what they want, or they would have done so already, but it would put a stop to Putins plans overnight. (very simplified I know)
Re: Ukraine
At least it will be quick. Russia vs the rest of the World.
Re: Ukraine
The World seems to be regressing at the moment. Perhaps we should have hit pause at 1960 and kept it in that gear forever. Except the racism that is. And the threat of the cold war. The aqueducts. Sanitation. A fresh water sytem...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Service parts collected for the Twingo. Spark plugs had to be fancy ones at £16.00 each didn't they! Cambelt kit, aux belt, aux belt idler pulley, oil and fuel filter, 5ltrs of oil was £278.00.
I just have to shave my hands down, chop a few fingers off and dislocate my elbow to fit it all.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Ah, now I see it! 45mpg is possible, but I think that would be sitting at 56mph with the trucks. Too late now I know! I'm off up to Skipton for a job next week, then over to Whitby for a long weekend with the wife. No lairy driving with her in the car, so I'll see what I can eek out of mine. If it ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I have a set of Hilka spring compressors from Screwfix. £21.99 and have a double claw system, so not as scary as the old type. I felt perfectly safe using them on both my Auris front springs, and the Alhambra rear springs recently.

Re: Your fleet running reports
After trawling the country for a cheapish first car for my daughter after she passed her test last week (a Yaris was 1st on the list, followed by a Suzuki swift, Nissan Micra in 3rd) and being left totally despondent by the utter shit that's for sale right now, I appear to have had a complete fuckin...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Cheers, looks tidy enough. Probably should qualify it that I need >45mpg, family hatch size minimum as the kids insist on growing. Been looking at Auris SR180 Gwarrrrred-spec to return to my Toyota roots. Had a (modern) Nissan Pulsar as a company pool car and that would fit the bill, but they are f...
