Re: Twitter
Because of all this Twitter/Disney thing and how Musk claims that Iger has done an awful job, I thought I'd check their share price About two years ago (fuelled by pandemic and Disney+?) it was up to nearly $200, now it's less than $100, which is about late 2014/early 2015 So I guess Iger isn't doi...

Re: The Watches Thread
Surely it depends on your build, if you’re over 6ft tall and a pretty big chap a sub 40mm watch will look like a kids watch. Sub-35mm was perfectly normal in the past. Bigger watches are just fashion and going out of favour a bit. It’s always easier to show off your bling if it’s bigger but is bein...

Re: Twitter
Being able to choose where to spend your own advertising money is a form of free speech, is it not ? Where is he on free speech these days ? When it comes to him saying what he wants without consequences, he's in favour If it's something being said by someone he doesn't like, or about something he ...
Re: Twitter
It's not news, but the thing with narcissists is that it's always someone else's fault It can't ever be their own actions - that just doesn't compute They're always the victim, because otherwise, they'd have to deal with the possibility that maybe it's them, not everyone else that's the problem So i...

Re: No F1 thread?
Some great overtakes and action I was really encouraged to see Leclerc pull away from Max in the early stages, and yes, it was mainly because Max's tyres were going off, but I was hoping for at least some competition this time Sadly not really And as much as I hate Max, I was pleasantly surprised to...

Watch related - following a pointer I bought a couple of "Scotchbrite Webrax" Scouring pads off ebay for £buttons and used the 100-grit one to re-brush the SuperEngII that I use with my Chris Ward C11 (but haven't worn for ages as it had picked up a couple of scratches that were annoying ...

Re: New TV Tiime
I wouldn't even bother if it was a Samsung tbh. The UI is utterly awful. We don't actually use anything on our TVs (Freeview box, Blu-ray and Chromecast) so the TV UI isn't really a concern... It's basically just a screen and speakers Fair enough. However, any aspect of the UI is awful, particularl...

Re: New TV Tiime
A house we stayed in recently had a nice Samsung TV on the wall However, it seemed to upscale everything in a way that made films (especially) look awful It seemed to be a combination of a much higher frame rate (which made films look like broadcast TV), and a kind of "seclective high definitio...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
So apparently you don't have to be a sitting MP to be a cabinet minister. Aren't we glad that we got rid of all the supposedly unelected EU bureaucrats so we can elevate a disgraced former PM/MP to be our foreign secretary without having to bother with an election? Technically, The PM doesn't even ...
