Re: The House Projects Thread
I've never heard of anyone in real life having issues with their house filling with bugs because they had bifolds / sliding doors. Are you all fertilising your lawns with cow shit on a daily basis?
This place seems to be a haven for those that uniquely struggle with normal day to day life.

Is this for trackdays or to actually race? That changes everything.

Was she called Donna or was that someone else? Did Jimmy used to be called Gremlin, or was that someone else? Is Jimmy's wife the one that tried to launch a restaurant in a garden shed? Yours confused of Sussex. I have never been Gremlin. I have never smashed Donna's back doors in. Yes, Kathryn has...

Re: Importing a car from the US
I think I knocked the dizzy cap when cleaning the engine. Next time I went to start it the rotor hit the cap and broke. Guy turned up to buy it and it wouldn't start. He went home, I investigated, found a broken rotor arm and bought a new one. It wouldn't start and when I investigated more I realise...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I remember when my brother first lowered his first car, a Hillman Imp. He fitted wide minilites and some daft springs that sat it on the floor. It meant you couldn't break and steer at the same time as breaking caused the front wheels to jam in the arches.

Re: Your fleet running reports
One of the best handling improvements you can make is mounting the big heavy bits more solidly. So many Elises have dangerous mid-corner lurches due to soggy perished engine mounts. One of the best upgrades I made on mine was solid engine mounts.

Re: Importing a car from the US
Id agree about getting one with as solid a body as possible. Chose a state where the climate is favourable. My brother's shipped his buses in from Arizona and they've always been unbelievably solid, the only issues often being sun damage to the paint, which to be honest looks ace anyway IMO.

Re: Importing a car from the US
My brother's imported a few early VW buses from the US, but he has a mate out there that handles some of it, i can ask him the ins and outs though. However, there's an ace thread on Retro Rides that details the process. It's also a fantastic read with ace photography. If you haven't seen it before, ...

This is one he's just finishing off and I think these are from Southern.
Structure and appearance of the back of our kitchen should be similar. It's steel with alu cladding over the structure to match the alu doors.

Ace. Sums up exactly what the guys I know who have them say. These are super-fit guys who race, yet they spend time on the eebs to just get more runs in. Is yours chipped? I understand MY18 / 19 Specialized are much harder to do than previous gen. ones. I've ridden an earlier modified one and it was...
