Re: Karting in the Rain

It’s not a bad place is it Matt Lad that runs it, Tom, has a monstrous M240i - very quick! Yeah, spotted the 240i - or my newphew did. There's what looks like a garage/workshop behind the track so figured it was one of theirs! Yep, he has a workshop that does BMW under his name He does/did a bit of...

Re: Karting in the Rain

So I took my nephew to Rednal Karting near Shrewsbury this afternoon. It had been raining overnight, and had just stopped when we'd got there, so track was soaked. It's been a few years since I've karted in the wet - last time I remember it being a slippy nightmare and most of the group facing back...

Russell Brookes : RIP

Some might not have heard of him and he seemed,in some ways, an unlikely rally driver to look at
But a genuinely nice bloke

integrale_evo wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 5:36 pm Didn't mike do 180something mph in a sierra in the 90s? Obviously 200+ mph in anything is impressive but it's not really moving things on hugely.

Meh

There’s a Qashqai down the road that does over 200mph

Re: Driving on the roads

7hrs door to door for us yesterday, with 2 stops, which isn't too bad from the furthest end of Cornwall. It's all fine 'til you hit hit the M5, then the cr4p lane discipline starts. And then you hit the midlands and all the total cvnts come out to play in the roadworks. Some truly Jedi-level d1ck d...

Re: Driving on the roads

Definitely, it’s why you need an everyday car you get enjoyment from. I mainly drive my Defender as it keeps you busy and is a giggle below the speed limit. I’d say the only difference now compared to 10 years ago is the fast long drives. I used to be able to sit at high speed for hours on end but ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Sold the Bora though Gumtree to a trader up north. That website is...interesting. The fact that I can happily knock £500 off a car in a private sale, or splash £150 on a night out, and I'm scrabbling around dealing with "gve phne number plx" messages on a shitty website to get an extra £1...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

Are you sure it's an Integrale ? It doesn't look like it has any flare to the arch but does have the twin pipes like the HF 4wd had. I've mentioned him before but a good friend had dozens of Italian stuff by his early 20's and had a similar experience with going from a HF Martini Turbo to an 8v Int...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

Deltas had the same moulded plastic capped screws for the rear lights and front indicators. I keep looking at HF turbos, which also look great on the 15in integrale wheels, but as fun as I imagine they are I can't help but think I'd be dissapointed having owned a proper integrale, so after a few tw...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

I'm sure I spent nearly as much time underneath mine as i did in the driving seat. :? Coastie races sound like fun. Outrun? Haha! Just the same sort of stuff we all did when young before speeding and traffic laws were invented :) Test the cornering/acceleration/braking abilities of your hot hatch/c...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

It's a fiat strada abarth, with a set of integrale wheels on it. Looks lovely 😎 As it is LHD I am going to suggest it is probably a Fiat Ritmo instead. ;) I am also going to suggest to JL that it is a 130TC. Because I want it to be. When I had my rusty old (85bhp) Superstrada I lusted strongly for ...

Re: Audi TT sport 240

I think the enthusiasts fit Cupra R steering and suspension to sharpen these up The popular mod to restore the steering sharpness is known as the ‘defcon’ mod, harder/different bushes from what I remember. I’ve just bought a 225 for £125, haven’t seen it yet :D QS is desirable, but will be quite so...

Shame how Audi felt they had to neuter them because of a few accidents and the press reaction When it came out they were included in the Best Handling cars of the year .....but they “fixed” them after that Friend bought a sub 2k one in a nice dark blue and it’s pretty quick I like the baseball leat...

Re: Audi TT sport 240

Wasn’t that the model with the 3.2v6 out of the r32 golf or am I thinking of something else? Anyhoo surely more cherished and more interesting than the 1.8t no matter the state of tune, which are not exactly characterful engines even when built to 420hp as a mate had in his Ibiza cupra. The Sport w...
