Re: Incorrectly used phrases
Should it not be "Phrases used incorrectly"? does that not imply them at the phrases are correct but their usage is wrong? Looking at the examples, perhaps it should be "morons who have clearly not read a book, mishearing well known phrases, then mangling them by inserting diff...

Re: Courtesy Car Lottery
Superb went in for it's new rear bumper on Monday so last Friday I picked up the equivalent car which was.... a Citroën C5 Aircross. It is utterly hideous in every way, night driving is ruined by the huge bright displays, the steering is stodgy and has some sort of inconsistent lane assist bollocks,...

Re: Best Angry Neighbour Letter
Brand, from the little I have seen of him, actually has a vocabulary, ot just access to a thesaurus though. This letter is horseshit with a few big words shoehorned in, but they detract from what he is trying to say, rather than reinforcing his point if, in fact, he has one. Nob end neighbours are n...

I agree, car crime wankers should be kicked heftily in the balls by that English striker with the 110 kph hoof!

Re: No F1 thread?
Anyone following the Massa v F1 possible legal proceedings? I have seen a few different comments.
1. He wants the 2008 DWC taken from Hamilton to be given to him.
2. He knows that won't happen so wants money.
I am not entirely sure what he hopes to gain, beyond the derision of many fans.

Re: Dumb idea or not?
Dumb. It's just a car. You have insurance. DWAI. Have you ever dealt with a car theft claim out of interest? Trust me "forget about it - its got insurance" is not a fun position to be in. Without stating what I'd think to be the obvious 1) you have to cross your fingers and hope they pay ...

Re: The Holiday French.
We used to spend time in France most years, when I was a kid. One of the first things my mum taught us was "je suis ecossaise" but only ever after trying to ask for un glace or whatever. Given the anti foreigner policies we have had for the last umpteen years, I cannot imagine we are all t...

Re: Our washing machine
re larger capacity, the TD is an 8, the new wm is a 7 or 8, the old one was a 5kg so an extra 40% odd will be fine. It needed new suspension, new seal, new bushes and a new module, plus fitting for al that stuff so was getting on for £500 for a machine that cost us less than that 20 years ago. I mig...

Our washing machine
Yup, our run of fantastic luck continues with the demise of our lovely washing machine. Think it was bought in early 2003 and lasted right through the kids being babies so cannot really grumble, beyond the fact that in the last month we have had so much expense of course.

Bar Soba, off George Street is lovely, probably not "fine" dining but blooming tasty. We also ate at the Thai place in St James Shopping Centre and it was amazingly good, although wear a jumper as it was chilly.

Re: 992 S/T
I suspect ST may be a Ford trademark now. Hence the S/T. Maybe, but then RS :? everyone uses RS - Audi, Jaguar, ford, Porsche, Renault, etc... ST isn't exclusively Ford either - pretty sure Peugeot used it? I remember XT back in late 80s early 90s, ST does ring a bell but I cannot plcae it with spe...

She is fine, she messaged yesterday to say "don't believe the media, it is awesome, just sweaty". Sounds like the heat wave has caused problems you just cannot solve under crowded campsite conditions. We got am email from Scouting UK explaining their reasons (safety) and asking us not to s...

Well my new flat data cable and right angle adapter have allowed Android Auto to work, which has also stopped me from skipping tracks when indicating or going round a corner, which is nice. Hi Gavin - have you got a link to the cable that you bought? In other news - I decided it was high time I had...

Re: The Volvo Estate..
I looked for a V90 or V60 this time round with a decent engine and decent miles but most seemed to be D3s around the £20k mark and very few petrol ones at all. A real shame, have had a fair few hatches, saloons and estates over the years and really loved them.
