Career change / mid-life crisis.
I realised I hated my job and most of the people I worked with. I walked out and was instantly happier. Boiling frog syndrome. While looking for a new IT job, I saw an ad on Instagram at my local BBQ takeaway/restaurant. https://i.imgur.com/aGusCvzh.jpeg Got me a Widescreen monitor and ergonomic cha...

Re: The Cats are good too thread
Got another rescue to keep Arnie company.
She's American Bobtail crossed with purebred moggy. Given that she has no tail I wanted to call her Bob or Stumpy. Overruled, she's called Teddy.

Things I’ve taken from watching that trailer once without paying too much attention- -Only one Wachowski involved -Lawrence Fishburn must have been busy -lots of blue pill references Also, wtf has Brains got do with the Matrix? https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/gerryanderson/images/3/3e/BrainsClose...

Re: Coronavirus
Aus has blown it as usual. I am double vaccinated, have been since the end of June. Yet here we are. Curfew, 5km limit, pubs/restaurants/shops shut. No different to 12 months ago, what a joke. They locked down well, but completely failed in the vaccine roll out. It definitely should have been a two ...

Re: BBQs
I am going to get a thermapen though next time I have some spare cash, added to your advice above I've seen a few youtubers using them, seems like the standard. That will probably solve a lot of my problems. You see them a lot on the cooking show being used by the pros. Sign up to https://thermapen...

Re: Coronavirus
NZ back into level four over a single case yesterday, looking like another four cases today and confirmed as Delta. It'll be a very interesting use case I think, to see whether the full on 'clamp down strongly straight away' vibe works against Delta variant, and if so, how long does it take. PS - w...

Re: Coronavirus
Lockdown 6.0 here in Melbourne. Initially 7 days, then extended for another 7. Last night extended for 14 days + curfew. We are 18 month into this and still locked down. Aus had it so good for so long and are now back to square one. If the vaccination program was vigorously pursued while we had it &...

Re: BBQs
Was so bloody good to BBQ last night after the soggy greyness off... 2020? Cheap snags and pork ribs from Lidl were great. The fuck are snags? Think of a Richmond sausage (mechanically reclaimed pink slime), slightly longer, skinnier and made out of beef. Aussies usually fry them on a flat plate on...

Media PC / NUC?
I've got an old HP ultra small form factor that has Win10 and Kodi working as a media PC with teh telly as it's monitor, it's plugged into the network and streams media from the NAS. Now that I've got a better telly (4k HDR 65") it is struggling on the bigger files I'm downloading, presumably b...
