Harris' book any good? His podcast was too rambling for me to persist with.
I may also go for Boring Car Trivia 4, Richard Porter's new book which he spruiks on the excellent Smith n Sniff podcast.

Re: Lego
Watching Limmy play it just now. Tempted to give it a go but I’m deep in a playthrough of Stardew Valley at the moment. From what I remember of Stardew Valley the relentless shopping lists of components needed are pretty much Lego Fortnite all over. Without the ability to seduce other Lego peoples ...

Re: Lego
A tie in that may divert/amuse some of you is Fortnite's Lego survival mode. Pretty much Minecraft with Lego. It's free, I've enjoyed it for most of the weekend. PVE only and you can choose to invite friends into your instance or just solo it. Really quite impressive, if lacking a couple of QoL touc...

Re: The Movie Thread
Hungrier Games V. Actually pretty good if about half an hour too long. Kids wanted to watch all the originals too and either I've got a huge hard spot for Jennifer Lawrence or they've aged quite well. In comparison to recent MCUs mostly tissue paper plots and relentless but meaningless action they a...

Re: The ebay thread
@RobYob this would be a good combo to the test for the effects of towing; https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/sOUAAOSw1S1lT4Qg/s-l1600.jpg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394992756121 Aerodynamically that looks terrible. And I’ve a nagging feeling I’ve posted it before. Nothing that a dozen rolls of gaffer t...
Re: Concorde
I've driven past, never been in, but have been to a prototype when little (can't remember where it was). Even then they seemed small inside. Duxford IWM has a prototype you can walk through. Fatastic thing to walk around and through, parked next to a TSR prototype and a Sunderland IIRC. Duxford is ...

Re: GTA 6
On the back of that exciting announcement of a forthcoming trailer I really should get around to playing the free copy of GTAV that Epic provided a few years ago.
I've nearly completed Alien Isolation so it's either GTAV or buy Baldurs Gate 3.

Re: Smartwatch v mechanical watch
As my work seems determined to ban personal devices from the office for security I'm likely to need to need to begin wearing a "dumb" watch again. Pity I break most watches I'm given from clumsyness. I'd happily wear some sort of watch ring thing if I could find one that wasn't designed fo...

Re: Heavy EVs
Flat trailer Vs caravan, Diesel Vs EV towing.
Data from about 8min.
And I helped out on this video.
Re: Heavy EVs
Why is the range so incredibly bad when electric vehicles tow then ? Due to how much more efficient they are they will always lose more range when affected by external factors. Even if you had a 50% efficient petrol engine on a steady cruise then external factors would affect the electric car twice...
Re: Heavy EVs
EVs do about 10 miles when towing anything heavy... Dave! Actually EVs are outstanding at towing heavy stuff, just really bad if it isn't aerodynamic... :D No they are currently horrific, absolutely pathetic range. You don’t need a lot of power or torque to tow well at all. Dave! What uses most of ...

Re: Book review thread
Finished the nine book Expanse saga and it absolutely delivers more of the epic Sci Fi the TV series translated so well.
Very cool to read the final three books that the series didn't cover (for understandable reasons) and reach the entirely satisfying conclusion.

Re: Decent Recent TV
We're watching Battlestar Galactica at the moment which I thought we'd watched before but apparently haven't. Abiding memory of BSG is how epic the start was, how good the middle was, and how meh the end was. Binging The Rookie which was fluffy Nathan Fillion reunion entertainment until we got to t...

Re: Steam Deck
I need a Steam Sale of annual leave to get through my pile of shame... Keeping telling myself I purchase Baldurs Gate 3 for my upcoming birthday and really take time to enjoy it. Have great (hazy) memories of 1 & 2 & DLC. Have been spending some fun hours with Hogwarts Legacy recently though...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I suspect @RobYob might have some insights to this discussion..... Yup the felty wheelarch liners are good for noise, both interior and exterior. Exterior tyre noise being very important these days because of the changing homologation specs which really start to hit rolling/coasting noise. You'll s...
