Re: Coronavirus
Spent a few days in London doing touristy stuff ... Covid catchup thing... Shouldn't have put "Covid" and "Catch" in the same sentence should I. Damn filthy cityfolk. Wrote off a sore throat mid last week as hayfever. Got aches and shakes on Friday and got the positive fee...

Sounds like Radford are using at least another sixty odd small car chassis (and Exige engine and maybe gearbox) https://www.pistonheads.com/news/general-pistonheads/all-new-radford-type-62-2-shown-in-full/44531 It certainly looks cool, but in base spec it's just a massively more expensive retro styl...

Apart from the slightly overlong sticking down of more carpet it's good to see it coming together.

Catching up on the John McGuiness episode. IoM TT always amazed me but McGuiness' stories are out of this world. I've listened to it 3 times. Funny stuff!! Is quite something that he's so positive but been exposed to a hell of a lot of death and pain. And he wants to compete again next year at 50!

Pretty much exactly what I would have bought myself a few years ago rather than a new PC.
I don't need one, but I really it.

Mitchell's Vs The Machines perfectly crafted Pixar fare this is not. Madcap is best word I can think of. Really good family movie though. Lots of very short samples of great music but the movie never did still for long enough to settle into a groove.

Re: Microchip/semiconductor shortage
I liked the summary by LTT. Semiconductor output is higher than ever, COVID only caused a relatively small disruption. But there's Massively increased demand everywhere. LTT video from March Automotive specific at 3:26, Manufacturers released semiconductor capacity which was consumed by everyone els...

Re: Analysis of Aston Martin's 1st Half 2021 Results
Well I did have a person who is very well connected in the car world tell me that Mercedes does not want Moers back. In an Andy Palmer way, or because he left in the first place? I imagine you can't elaborate. Will Aston ultimately end up in the hands of Geely? Geely is the other quite possible opt...

Re: Coronavirus
Spent a few days in London doing touristy stuff and was pleasantly surprised at people being considerate about masks indoors. In between being randomly drowned by rain then burnt by the sun I discovered a thick luxurious beard and a mask make for a sweaty face very quickly. Should have shaved. A com...

Re: The Movie Thread
Just watched Pixar’s Coco. How haven’t I watched this before?? Also I’m not crying you’re crying 😭 A beautiful movie in every way. Took the family to see it on release and I think every adult in the cinema was having a bit of a cathartic cry at the end. The new Pixar animation Luca is very watchabl...

Finished Andy Weir's new novel, Project Hail Mary over the weekend. Really enjoyable and a bit of an evolution in style from The Martian (and the fairly forgettable Artemis)

Re: Decent Recent TV
UA was a pleasant surprise, Loki was a bit of a waste to me. mega cast did nothing much except setup another MCU thread.
I totally underated Shadow and Bone initially, the series just got better and better as the separate stories converged and I'm looking forward to S2. Recommended.
