Re: Best looking iteration of long-running car models

Nath, do you have a history of the W204 which you can share? I say that because of bits and pieces I have read over the years. I think it was a first in using CAD simulation for prototype testing before actually making a prototype. Interesting to me it had passive rear steer This has some of it htt...

Jobbo wrote: Wed Jul 31, 2019 11:47 am As for the C-class, the W204 (pre-facelift for me) is definitive; the current one might sell really well but the W204 was so right in my eyes that I doubt Merc will ever better it.
Lovely cars. I really think they are a modern day W124

Re: eBay 996 build thread

Thankyou.

I also understand auto's are vulnerable because they pull away in 2nd gear and theres more torque on the crank.

But in terms of bore scoring ?

Re: eBay 996 build thread

Are early (1998) 3.4 any trouble ?

The way I see it, if its made it to 21 years old - its probably ok ?

Re: Baggy Boxsters

Am I imagining it or were the later 986s a sweeter drive than the early 987s ?

Lighter and less understeery IIRC ?

I still fancy a seal grey 986 with amber lenses.
