Re: Coronavirus
Much as it pains me to bring up the issue of the government "dishing out multi-million pound contracts to their mates" again, it looks like some of their chickens might be coming home to roost: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/coronavirus-contracts-transparency-covid-caroline...
Re: FAO Chefs
Depends what you want to do with them and how long you want to store them. Chillis, peppers etc don't freeze very well - they come out soggy and flaccid. Sandwich bag in the fridge is good for a couple of weeks. You can drag this out a bit longer if you decore and seed them first. For longer term st...

Re: Electric Westfield build diary
As I understand it, people rip the motors, battery packs etc out of Teslas, but then use aftermarket controllers/ECUs etc to run them. Tesla are super strict on control of their ECUs - partly so there isn't a load of bad press from people blowing themselves up, but also to enforce the model hiarachy.

Re: Electric Westfield build diary
I expect something home broo'd by you by christmas and your good lady wondering why you have 2 washing machines that don't work in the house. Funnily enough, I've been chatting to my auto-locksmith mate (who gets his security software crack and hacks from various err-hem "grey" market sou...

Original build diary for the MegaWatt Westfield. Mind bending power to weight figures... https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/121032-the-fastest-accelerating-westfield-in-the-world-the-megawatt/ To underline the accelerative power, here's a drag race against a fully TC'd Hayabusa Turbo Westfield (ba...

Re: Coronavirus
Probably the work of Dominic Cummings again. "If we get the public to turn on each other, then they won't come after us" It's a political strategy as old as the hills - people, being human, find it a lot easier to have a strong emotional response to other people (especially those they alr...

Re: Coronavirus
I'm shocked, but not surprised at how successful the campaign of "blame each other" has been. From the immediate post-lockdown beach shots, to the current focus on "raves" and mask non-compliance, there has been a sustained effort to get everyone to lay the blame squarely at the ...

Ah, I'm asking the wrong thing. Has anybody had the antibody test? If so, same question.

Re: Coronavirus
Question for all those who have been tested - how did you get your results? Text/Email or a physical piece of paper - and if it was the latter, was it a proper headed piece of A4 or a ticker-tape thing like a reciept?

Oops. My first big cock up. I make the mistake of posting a points standing to the Scottish Formula Ford Facebook page. Which apparently crosses the line into "unauthorised championship". It took less than 20 mins before the legal threats started arriving  Strictly speaking, our sta...

Re: FTAO of nefarious
The event was a stonking success, and I've now been invited for a sit down meeting with the Knockhill head honcho to discuss the future. My performance as a driver was less impressive - just couldn't get my head into it, and struggled for pace all weekend (2 5th places). But, as an overall outcome,...

I think he is highly motivated to creating a legacy for himself which you can’t do by making the rich elite even richer. It has to be the people. Name one thing that he's done, or is planning to do, which will (or even *may*) leave a positive legacy for the people. HS2? Increasingly white elephant ...

And I’ll tag @Nefarious as this might interest him...? Ta very much. Indeed, right up my street - I'll look into it. By way of return, I have only lovely things to say about this place: https://www.eastcoastcured.com/ Had some of their venison salami and some of their fennel salami, which were both...

It simply isn't the case. Literally zero fucks are given about the welfare of 99.9% the electorate. The exclusive objective of every action of the current government is the furtherment of the financial interests of a handful of individuals to the greatest extent they can get away with - which, give...

Re: Coronavirus
You’d have “50,000 Tory deaths” etc etc even if the numbers of affected were no different to if they had put measures in place. Do you think? I suspect the post-mortem strategy would be the same whether it was 42,000, 50,000 or 200,000 excess deaths - claim that whatever result you get is "wor...

The government appear to have f*cked this up from start to finish really Sadly even the concept of having "fucked it up" relies on the premise that the objective was ever responsible management of the nation and its economy. It simply isn't the case. Literally zero fucks are given about t...

I had promised myself I'd stay out of this thread, but things seem to have taken another worrying turn. And I'm taking about this "moonshot" mass testing business. Not only is it yet another excuse to pump billions public money into private contracts with companies like Serco and Deloitte ...

Re: FTAO of nefarious
Well, boys and girls, its finally here - Scottish Formula Ford's great post-lockdown homecoming 🏁🏁😁 We have a respectable grid of eight cars at Knockhill for testing on Saturday and a full race programme of quali and two races on Sunday. At times it's been like pulling teeth to get to this point (an...
