Re: BBQs

Turns out I definitely didn’t clean mine before not using it over the winter. It was a little furry in areas.

I think I mostly managed to fix that with medium sized fire

Should probably wash it though

Re: Fuel: red diesel and some older cars

Do we know if new cars are even built to withstand 10% ethanol? I’m not sure all markets are, so the same car in one market where they sell 10% might be ok but it won’t be in another because the manufacturer has saved the cost of fitting parts which can cope. Our Mini will run on it, per the sticke...

Because I care about the environment, I don’t have kids Is that your genuine reason? (I’m not preaching that everyone should want/have kids btw - just curious if the main reason is the environment). It’s not my main reason, no My main reason, is that I’m too selfish to have children. Neither of us ...

Re: The ongoing degradation of customer service

Refunds piss me off. Why can you take my money instantly but it takes me ‘x’ days to get it back? Cunts. Exactly this. I wanted some parts for the Mustang so got recommendations from the owners club, ordered from the states and clicked the option for shipping and all duties and taxes paid. Items tu...

that and compensation.
Ideally they should be replacing it with two new iPhone 11 Pro’s

Re: FAO Richard Major

Meh. Just checked mine and its at 86%. It still feels fine to me. I presume leaving it on my wireless charger at work all day is responsible. I'm happy to be corrected here - but my understanding is that you should charge it between 10% and 90%, leaving it on charge at 100% stresses it out, leading...

Re: FAO Richard Major

Its at 98% Just wondered as the warranty runs out in a couple of weeks. you think a 2% loss over a year is worth investigating a replacement??!! The % is a bit misleading Anything approaching 90% will feel bad to power users. Into the mid 80’s and most users will be getting very fed up. I mentally ...

I watched Homecoming on Prime over the last week or so. It stars Julia Roberts who’s working as a therapist at a centre for helping rehab American soldiers back into civilian life. But, is everything as it seems?? No, it’s not But also, it leads you towards thinking it’s all very strange, but it tur...

I’ve been watching The Crown

I had previously assumed it was only for girls and gays, BUT it turns out it’s pretty good. If you find yourself in a situation where “erindaws” wants to watch it, don’t be put off

If you're not playing Dwarf Fortress in ASCII you're a lightweight. I'd question if anyone bar the pros has the skill to make use of >60fps in a competitive FPS let alone a sim. It will surely look nicely, but I'm deeply skeptical it gives you an advantage. Allow Linus to show you https://you...

A very interesting watch. The cost of insurance seemed very reasonable, IMO, considering it’s all those cars and bikes, fully covered for all 4 Metcalfes

The huge delta in running costs is interesting too
