Re: The House Projects Thread

BTW, Deb is now mad at me as I showed her your place and she's upset about what we could get for our money in another part of the country. Said 'if you say we are moving I will pack tomorrow!'. Great.

I have a 5.1 soundbar and sub setup but actually you don't need it. Most of the appreciation is in the story and the visual, not the aural.

Re: The Movie Thread

Finally finished watching Oppenheimer. Quite a film. Nolan keeps knocking it out the park, doesn't he? Apart from the slightly ambitious Tenet to blot his copybook, I've loved most of what he's done.

A worthy winner of multiple BAFTA gongs too... I wonder what we'll see next from him.

LOL, it's not a fucking turing test  Not at all, but it’s certainly showing how pointless Captcha is.. Two years ago it was complicated and expensive to build an ML platform to interpret Captchas. It's not any more. That's all it is. Captchas like that have _always_ been easy to overcome by so...

The only 1 thing that Musk ever did right in his whole privileged life was banning TLAs from Tesla.

We use them all the time at work, and unfortunately they often have more than one meaning and it's hard knowing what they're ever talking about.

Re: Harry’s Garage

I've glossed through the video, don't really wish to listen to 28 minutes of talk about how shit EVs are <snip> It's really not that Mito. Don't forget, Harry ran an EV and a PHEV and nearly bought another PHEV. He likes EVs. This video is just about why it's not right for him right now and why the...

Re: Harry’s Garage

Fascinating video. Very honest perspective on EVs and hybrids alike. And I'm glad there is someone out there properly documenting how fast charging, charging to 100% etc etc affects battery health. The fact is that anyone who's been around batteries for a while has known this. It's why I don't charg...
