13mpg  That's about, what, 60p per mile at current fuel costs? I've had cars with TCO less than 60p per mile!

Re: Good car/Bad car

That sounds like my perfect car! It's not my favourite car, but they are great. Guys like AutoPap and Jackal on Twitter rave about them being the best since sliced bread, even given their rather expensive fleet they own. At £13k new, they were a bargain. Things have...changed a bit since so they're...

Re: Cheaper GoPro alternative?

Second hand GoPro's are still expensive, and as it's a gift, I wouldn't want something that looked overly used. I did try refurbished, but there are no official channels for this, just people selling 2nd hand ones. The ApeMan may be worth a go. At least it's cheap enough that if he uses it loads, we...

Re: Good car/Bad car

Are we talking "Best" as in, subjectively speaking as a car? If so.... Best? Probably my Up! GTi. 60mpg, pennies to run, well built, easy to drive/park, still has a few toys and just works every time. Even does motorway relatively well. Worst? S1 Exige. Just broke down constantly, gave me ...

Cheaper GoPro alternative?

Looking to buy my nephew GoPro style camera - around the £150-200 mark. Ideally one with a rear screen.
Most of the stuff around this price gets pretty poor reviews, suggesting you're better of paying the extra for a GoPro.

Anyone used anything that's decent?

Re: Weekend toy for £5k?

Slight concern that the last stamp in the book is from 2011?

"Loads of history" is all well and good ...but if' it's not been maintained in 11 years? Yikes. Great engine though, just remember you'll not see much over 20mpg and petrol is currently the wrong side of £1.50.

Re: What’s the furthest you’ve travelled to buy a car?

650 mile round trip to buy the Evora from the wrong side of Scotland.
Did 500 mile trip to collect the GTA.

Turns out some of the best cars I've had have come from the furthest away.

Password Managers

Which do you use?

Getting tired of using...less secure methods of transferring passwords between devices. Not interested in all the other crap that comes with other software (VPN, document store, etc) I just want a good, secure password manager.

Lastpass still the best to go for?

Re: Today’s want

Problem with the Alpine is that it falls in that strange no-mans land. Doesn't have the name, looks or the cachet (unless you're nerdy enough to remember the original) - it's saving grace is how it drives, but even then would you chose it over the Emira/Evora or Cayman? Both of which are also availa...

Re: PC graphics question/ramble

I wasn't aware of any passthrough.

Most mobos disable iGPU once you put a card in, meaning any monitors plugged in get 'no display' - you can go back in the BIOS and enable it, but the monitor running through the onboard port won't use the GFX cards power.

AFAIK, anyway.
