Re: Lease Deal: LEON CUPRA 5DR 300 DSG £289 p/month (23+1)

Marv wrote: Wed Apr 18, 2018 3:09 pm Does anyone who takes out a lease ever do under the mileage 'limit'?
It's a silly thing to do - it tends to be the same price difference up front as paying for it later, but if you do fewer miles you don't get a refund.

Re: The Watches Thread

The Autodromo Prototipo was a watch I first saw mentioned in Evo - that's got a rather nice cushion case shape and looks pretty funky. Still like the Longines reissue I posted above more, but here are the details: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/autodromo-prototipo-review https://hodinkee.imgix.ne...

I think you’ve just found the wrong model Rich.

Always amazes me that watch makers use such similar names for quite different watches.

That’s a newer reissue harking back to the original, too. But you get the point.

Re: The Watches Thread

I read the other day that Watchfinder's offers to buy watches have dropped a fair bit. Suspect they either have too much tied up in stock already or they're struggling in some other more serious way.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I had no idea there were so many accessories for CTEKs. While I like the idea of those indicator lights, any idea what the power drain is? My MX5 started first time after sitting for 2-3 months unused, and over that period it's possible the tiny drain from the lights might have meant I'd have had to...

Re: The Watches Thread

“All performing the same irrespective of watch brand” isn’t necessarily true of bought-in movements - ETA certainly make their movements available in different levels of finish and feature set (standard, elaboré, top and COSC certified, IIRC) and that’s before the manufacturer applies any of their ...

M2 is now 6 months old so I thought I'd treat it to a wash, pretty much the first time since I've had it. I also waxed most of it using Autoglym HD Wax which left a great finish, I'm not sure where this premium ish product came from as I certainly wouldn't have spent £40 on a wax  Nothing else...

They may have briefly been on offer a week or so ago at John Lewis bricks and mortar stores - not online, but the VW camper, Beetle and Mini were about 15% off. Ideas sets generally aren't discounted much or at all except when the Lego shop online sells off its last stock. So I'd not be too worried ...

Village Inn in Thurlestone, Hope Cove, South Pool. We’ve covered a fair bit. Did Bigbury to Mothercombe this morning. Having a beer now. Coast path or just driving between eateries? :D My garden looks a shitload better than it did last week. Also managed to make the spare room properly usable (by m...

I certainly don’t frown on that, John - if they’ve made you wait a year for a watch you actually want to wear, it lessens the pain a bit! I take it your AD didn’t hang onto the warranty card etc?

I had a nose at XJs; I’d have one over an XF but being JLR products makes me think they’d be as unwise a purchase as my preferred L322 Range Rover.

Re: New car thread

Even with the luxury pack (nappa leather, artico dashboard and alcantara headlining) they feel quite hair-shirt inside. I appreciate that they do have some of the air of a W124 which the W211 lacked, but there's just nothing massively desirable about being in one.
