Re: Projectile vomiting

If you’re unlucky after norovirus’s 24-72 hour incubation period you too might get such a treat.

Which Boxster to get?

That Porsche track day gave me the bug and I am actively looking at second hand Boxsters. I was hoping someone who has owned one before / been through a similar process / just happened to be on the internet and thought highly of their own opinion could give me some pointers. I’ve read all the buying...

Great write up! Sounds like a well worthwhile day. With this in mind, any alterations due? Different tyres perhaps?

Some of that is the guy at the wheel though! Couple of moments when the wheel twitches under heavy acceleration/braking and the correction is instant!

Re: Ferrari Options?

What would you rather have a Ferrari 458 Italia and a 308 GTB or a mint 430 Scuderia? Prices on the two options are about the same right now in the US. The Scud for me too. It would be fun to have a 308 GTB kicking around for a vintage twist but tbh I hate the 70s styling and there the appeal ends....

Re: Family holiday location in the UK?

Bit late to the party but we had a short break in Rye last year and can thoroughly recommend. Beautiful scenery and great foodie places there. Plus pop over to Winchelsea and you can see where Spike Milligan is buried. Another vote for Scotland too. We were up in Perth last summer for a wedding and ...

....really? What on bloody earth have you been up to in the last....too many years? Also... I have been posting on the Facebook group for like the last month. Who do you think remembered the supersideways Sierra and IFG videos and had been featured in ‘it wouldn’t be possible without’? No observati...

Alas I know nowt of newt, but of X-Types I've heard on here that rusty sills are not unheard of which seems to doom them.
Yeah, that and the transfer box binning it. The rest of the things to look for are mostly elextronic and easier to live (or die!) with.

Re: FAO Dave The Explosive Newt

Yeah, the X-type got pretty rave reviews at the time (a couple of UK rags giving it good reviews you could dismiss, but I don't recall any bad reviews, period, handling wise), and no-one really has a bad thing to say about them today yet. Mondeo underpinnings might sound 'cheap' but the Mondeo was ...

Re: FAO Dave The Explosive Newt

A lot of grip but a bit let down by the brakes imo. Still you can chuck it into a lot of corners with abandon then be surprised that you have appeared right as rain on the other side, and lining up a series of S-bends remains fun because of the revvy AJP30 V6. Lacks something of the alacrity of my S...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The X-type despite being a cheap buy has cost me a fair bit in the last couple of years as a lot of the suspension was knackered (problems with a heavy beast not looked after properly I guess) but swapping some bushes and some new control arms took care of the worst of it. On a trip back from Yorksh...

Looks like they still do them. Ginetta too. I’m keen to drive some of the more exotic (ha) stuff too and had wondered about some of the Silverstone experiences.
