The redline looks to be 7,250 from that picture. OK, you do have a point there. Smarty pants. But that's not my car, it's a pic off the internet that I posted from my phone and didn't notice it was slightly different to mine. Here's an actual picture from my car: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dhstn1xpx...

Re: Surrey* Rolling Road - Sat 28th April - from about 10am

It revs to 7.5k? Good stuff! So it seems ! The rev counter doesn’t actually have a red line marked on it. It’s plain all the way to 8k: https://images.hgmsites.net/lrg/2008-aston-martin-db9-2-door-volante-auto-instrument-cluster_100258807_l.jpg (not my pic) (but my speedo is the same and goes up to...

Re: Surrey* Rolling Road - Sat 28th April - from about 10am

Factory spec on mine says 380hp and I was expecting it to be well under. In the end it managed this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sv30auie1cbs3vf/AstonDyno1.jpg?raw=1 I am pretty chuffed 8-) Although it was only after I got home that I realised the second line is AFR, not torque. D'oh. I'll have to try...

Bizarre. Get an electric one with a digital gauge. Then you don't even need to keep an eye on it, just set it going and it automatically cuts off when it reaches the right pressure.

I have one of THESE, had it years, works really well.

Right, well, the results are in, and I think the main thing to remember is that it's not a competition.

So mine will have to wait until after all the losers have posted :D

And it was followed by a smashing lunch & group photo at Costco.

Wheels received back from BJV Engineering. Very pleased ! 5-spokes, set #1 (8" & 10" width) - refurb in silver and fitted with a new set of Federal 595 RS-R that I supplied. These will be my default road / track wheels. 5-spokes, set #2 (7½" & 9" width) - refurb in silver...

Re: Commercial property for private use

That's some good info there, thanks guys. From what I've read online, premises with rateable value <£12k get 100% exemption and pay no business rates. From £12k-£15k there's tapered relief until at £15k the relief is 0% and you're paying normal business rates. The government website has really good ...

Yep, looking forward to it ! Still planning on coming down in the Porsche for a look, then the Aston for a power run 8-)

Won't make it to the car show though, other stuff to do tomorrow :(

Commercial property for private use

A complete flight of fancy right now, but seeing as I can’t make my garage at home any wider what’s the pitfall(s) of having a small industrial unit for personal use ? Punitive business rates ? Insurance difficulties ? Other ? I’m imagining something about the size of four cars. Just for storage and...

There's a mega-mileage Vantage on Autotrader for £24k at the moment. Should be a better bet than the C63.

Could well be. Judging by the rate it comes out the bottom it's not small hole, a wayward hose makes sense.

Re: Your fleet running reports

my tuna mentioned that our F31 water reservoir has some issue with it to keep an eye on, he said it was a ball ache to sort because of its location in the wheel arch. I've been looking online and actually it doesn't look *too* bad, but to do it myself I'd need to remove it to find out what's wrong,...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Tried to refill the screen wash on the BMW and it all pissed straight out the bottom of the car. Not just a drip, a steady flow. Normally I'd dive straight in but the reservoir is inside the driver's wheel arch and you need to remove the wheelarch liner to even look at it. Faff. I deliberately bough...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The Caravelle passed its MOT on Saturday. A pleasant surprise as I've not given it any attention at all recently and it has developed an unidentified clunk from the rear when empty. It had only done 1,573 miles since last year and ~500 of those were when my parents borrowed it to move house ! Now on...

Re: Surrey* Rolling Road - Sat 28th April - from about 10am

I'm booked in at 12:30, but I'm planning on popping down early to see GG's run. I need some stuff from Costo anyway so pizza lunch sounds good. 1 Factory bhp - 380bhp (and 302 lb/ft) 2 What are you expecting - it seems to run well enough but I suspect they used TVR's dyno to get to 380bhp. I'll be h...

Re: It's the weekend

My weekend so far is full of win:

1) Had a haircut
2) Caravelle passed its MOT
3) Bought sausage rolls
4) Wife is out for a couple of hours

And the weather's OK too.
